Video game glitches part 4 - Zelda gameboy

These videos are pretty cool but It would be nice if you went more in depth as to why these glitches work.

@WintersGrip As a programmer I will take a wild guess. When the character changes map (go to the edge of the map) it will load that map's sprites and AFTER the map has fully transitioned into (the map sprites moves in and the old map sprite moves out the way) it will only update the player's new position in the map.

@WintersGrip So lets say the size of every map is 50, 50. To move to the northern map you have to travel to 25, 50, then the game will load the northern map and start scrolling down. AFTER the map has scrolled down, the game will then remove the previous map and set the character's position to 25, 0. But in the case of going into the menu screen, it might save the character's original x and y position and load it when the screen exits, so it skips the position change and load it at 25, 50

@SOPM2007 You would be surprised. Many games have things like this but its not likely someone will do this in gameplay. I mean think about it, how many times have you pressed Select while moving up a screen in a game? Either way, its totally up to the user to use the bug, its not like its something that you will run into no matter what.

In zelda games, all dungeons are put on the same map. I couldn't find a map of it after 5 minutes of searching on google, though. It appears to simply not exist on the internet. 'o'

YOU CAN STEAL IN THE TOWN SHOP !!!

1- take the shovel or arrows or bombs...

2- move close to the wall (quickly) to the exit...

3- you can exit if the cashman don't look the door

BUT:

1- when you return to the shop, the cashman kill you...

2- the shovel or bombs or arrows are yours.

3- your name become 'Thief'...

You can enter a 'back door' to bow-wow's dog house and enter a glitch world. Also, at exactly 3:15, where Link is standing, if he were to move immediately left, hitting the wall, and has a power bracelet, he can actually yank that part of the wall out like a stone. There are actually a few others spots like this in the lost woods.

Also, the 'select glitch' doesn't work in the color version.
