  • I beleive if a cheap receiver would be released, there would be no problems with DRM propagation here in Russia :)

  • @v2dushik Bring it on. Mass production of cheap DRM receivers! sounds good to me :)

  • @kiekeboe2u BTW I see no difficulties to produce the one. Look: we have cheap ARM processors, we have algorythms for DRM signal processing, we have vast variety of graphic interfaces and we have facilities to receive AM signal for almost 100 years. That means we've got everything to create cheap full-functional DRM receiver even with touch screen :)

  • I heard about this station from Media Network weblog. Makes you wonder why they're using DRM, and why at the time of day in the target areas.

My setup is probably similar to yours. 455kHz IF fed to downconverter, 12kHz fed to Dream software. Can really only hear Radio New Zealand here in Australia (very basic antenna).

Would love DRM to succeed but after watching for ten years I can't help thinking they're flogging a dead horse. It might be too late now. Internet killed the radio star (maybe).

  • I agree. It's hard to deal with the shortwave fading and interference. I'm lucky if I get 10 Minutes uninterrupted music. Ideal would be if the local AM stations switch over to DRM.

If that happens, then there's still hope.
