  • Nosferatu is made in 1928, not 1957!

  • Thats all old movies -.-

  • Amadeus?

  • Tu as le mérite d'avoir pensé au Patient Anglais, c'est bien, le reste: si tu veux ...

  • 2001: a space odyssey, Clockwork Orange, Casino, Platoon, Full Metal Jacket? ...i can go on.

While not great, it's a good list

  • @charms71 someone is a fan of kubrick

  • @CAarLiTToXX lol maybe but Scorsese is my favorite of all time fyi.

    ;)

  • sb me i will do list GREAT LIST

  • Excalibur 13º? LOL

  • se7en ??

  • Cool

  • Tokyo Stoty & Late Spring( Ozu Yasujiro) are as good as Seven Samurai.

  • and i havent even heard of most of the movies in the top twenty

  • ya forest gump definitly should've gotten higher on the list

  • 0:39 adele?

  • Shichinin No Samurai indeed one of the greatest movies.

  • Also @MrRoekkum: A little mistake: Once Upon A Time In The West was released in 1968, not 1969!

  • You gotta respect a list like this... It must have taken alot of work and dedication! If you think you can do better, then please upload a video like this and let's see what sort of feedback you get! Most of you can't even reach past top 10, let alone top 90!

Don't comment if you don't like the video... No-one really likes your comment anyways and If you got time, see my 200 greatest movies of all time video if you want to!

  • Wheres Blood In Blood Out, Harry Poter, Training Day, Titanic, Hurricane, Saving Private Ryan, Tears Of The Sun ohhhhhh il keep going.....

  • @ShuTheBoys Please don't because all of those movies suck

  • @blablaidontcarewhour sorry if that list dident include brokeback mountain

  • @ShuTheBoys I'm not. That film is oscar bait garbage.

  • Check out my top 100 movies of all time, it's very different... thanks

  • no its a wonderful life?

  • City Lights, Charlie Chaplin's best.

  • Alien?

  • I love that you have old movies on here. Not all that crappy hood rat stuff that you watch with your friends.

  • Pulp fiction on 47 ? Meeeh, i think its the best movie ever made but thats my opinion...

  • You couldn't have seen any Nicholas Roeg films or else you would have put at least one in there -' Performance' for instance.

The Third Man should be there too.

  • most of these are insanelly boring

  • The Crow? /List fail

  • pretty good wheres TIME COP

  • The Matrix at 68? You have no idea about what's out there. Broaden you horizons ...

  • #60 haha... umm..

  • Nice list!

  • i personaly do not like lists with old movies. They are usually too dated. i dont care if they are ground breaking or classics. It has to be an amazing film that stands up today. The seven samuri does stand up and is one of the best so well done.

  • missing citizen kane, the third man, the searchers, the grapes of wrath, vertigo, and Raging bull, otherwise pretty good list

  • @8817kyle grapes of wrath sucked, i wanted to kick henry fonda in the balls

  • no braveheart?? you suck

  • Fantastic list, especially since you have A Clockwork Orange so high x]

However, I would add in Brazil, Goodfellas, PVC-1 (A motion picture filmed entirely in a single shot. That alone should be enough for someone to see it.), REC, Irreversible, Man Bites Dog, The Hurt Locker, Saw (nobody's gonna agree with that, though xD), Fargo, Watchmen, Trainspotting, Tropic Thunder, and Requiem for a Dream.

That's just me. So glad to see a Kurosawa fan. From what I understand, he's Scorsese idol.

  • @CarbonFrosty I agree, Brazil should definitely be on there if "Twelve Monkeys" is. I'd also add 2001, Dune, Lawrence of Arabia, and Empire Strikes Back. And of course Goodfellas.

  • this is a good list its rare to find a lover of Kurosawa. can you tell me why you liked a few dollars more more than the other two, I love that movie but its i havent seen many who like it better than the good the bad and the ugly, im guessing because the villain was better but please tell me.

  • I love that you have Midnight Cowboy in position #69.

  • citizen kane? good list though

  • I love the Seven Samuari. But you forgot some movies i would put in, Fight Club,BraveHeart,GoodFellas

  • bullshit

  • Good list - hugely imperfect as any should be because my opinion is different to yours BUT props for the Conan soundtrack - easily the greatest movie soundtrack OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!! And Excalibur was shite but where is any Cohen Bros listings.

  • Finally, a list with Blue Velvet!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have to thank you. Your list is great and it inspired me to watch some of those films. Really great work. To bad i cant see your new list because of some sony copyrights or something i just cant watch it -.- but still there are some movies you could add to your list (if you havend done it already): Fightclub, In Bruges, Unforgiven, the Prestige, Princess Mononoke and my personal favorite Oldboy....but still pretty great list

  • CARS all the way!!!

  • Personally I'd have The Shawshank Redemption at no1 but great list nonetheless.

  • Okay. You lost me at The Crow.

  • Dr.Strangelove, Dr.Franken Furter, Hannibal and Alex DeLarge FTW!! :D

  • No Fellini's 8½? Vertigo?! Goodfellas?! Taxi Driver?! ...

  • No 2001 space odyssey?

  • I'm adding this to my favorites so I watch all these movies & see it from your point of view. I'll watch them, start to the end of the credits, & hopefully get the full understanding of why you chose all of those movies in that order. It'll give me something to do. Plus, this list has pigued my curiosity. There are a few movies on this list I've not only never heard of before but never watched. But I'll watch them now.

  • No brother where art thou?

  • where's goodfellas, the exorcist and fight club!!?

  • @sidvick12, I agree about "Fight Club", that's in my Top 5. Also, people forget about, "Interview With The Vampire" & "Alien". Two extemely great films, no respect!

  • @sidvick12 Fight Club is one of the best movies of all time!!! OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @sidvick12 it's this person's opinion, not yours...

  • no Citizen Kane?!

  • Very good list

  • Very interesting. A lot of movies that I didn't see on other lists.

  • Blue velvet that high is a travesty and you have some very elitist picks most falling upon a director i have much admiration for stanly kubrick but the over presentation was good just refine your repertoire and I'm sure you will get it right soon. Look up Citizen Kane and La Dolce Vida, North by North Western, Raging Bull, Gone with the Wind, 2001 a space odyssey,On the Waterfront, Vertigo, the Searchers, and taxi driver those are some other great ones.

  • This list is lame. Except for Ran being in the number four spot. That was correct.

  • great list but i haven't noticed trainspotting here. it suposed to be in the first place but it's not there. there must be some kind of mistake

  • Your top list.....but, to call it "...Ever made" :-P......I think that you have to spend more time in front of the screen! Thanks for the vid, anyway!

  • A lot of good picks! Maybe not the greatest movies ever made but that's just my opinion.

  • I like both lists. This one seems a bit more contemporary though...

Really like that True Romance is in here...

  • Alright what's with no CITIZEN KANE??

And how about Cyrano de Bergerac, with Gerard Depardieu?

And I dunno if the Return of the King belongs there....

But no Citizen Kane, that's an automatic fail right there :(

  • for me forest gump is the best....

  • No Citizen Kane? Get real!

  • for me scarface is the best of all

  • Where is Death Wish

  • Blade Runner is a shit movie.

  • The pianist <3 love it

About poland long time ago Soo Sad I lovee this film <3 <3

  • Lord of the Rings? Are you sure?

  • AMELIE?

  • very good choice for number one infact that was a really good list my personal fav is leon.

  • the crow? really?

  • far too many recent flms

  • Great selection - you really know you're films :)

  • With all of these lists everyone allways puts movie title with a ? Or maybe a ?! To jazz it up. This is their list of favorite movies so stfu! He can't put everything on 1 video. Besides it's not that bad of a list.

  • What a rubbish list. Clockwork Orange ahead of Apocolypse Now and Pulp Fiction, and the Goodfellas is left out?

  • the green mile 85 you fucker and you like forein films wat about hero and an american great movie the last samuri

  • @mrjuan1120, and what your saying at the mo is just giving more evidence about what I sed abou the american (well certainly a discracefully large chunk of them any way)

  • @mrjuan1120, trust me we are not inferior! Name some sports that you know of and name me them, almost ALL of them would have been invented by Britain (football, or as you know it as; soccer) or you have taken two BRITISH sports and put them together (baseball; a combination of softball and cricket, both British sports!!) I will admit to two sports Americans created: dodgeball and. Basket ball

  • @outlettered YEH OK...KEEP TELLING THAT TO YOURSELF...

  • @mrjuan1120 i find it funny winding people up!!! cant really beat that feeling of watching that guy everybody hates get all stressed out while you sit back and laugh!!! (thumbs up anyone who agrees!!!)

  • @outlettered I'M HATED...???THANKS DUDE I TAKE THAT AS A COMPLIMENT.....

  • @mrjuan1120, ok... you really need to see someone if you feel that way!

  • @outlettered As much as I hate, no, despise people asking for votes, I just had to give you a thumbs up. :)

I detest people like him. Americans who think they are the centre of the universe, thinking they are better than us just because they are Americans.

Oh, and was he trying to steal Harry Potter from you? I giggled ;>

  • @fd9w4dncm i know, he's a bit of a dick ain't he!

  • Mrjuan1120 really does show the true side of America: selfish, ignorant, cocky basterds with no respect for what anyone else does!!!!

  • @outlettered Not all Americans are like that. America is a melting pot. Please dont believe that we think that way...... Although we do have very ignorant people in America

  • @MrCastilloNathaniel NOT ALL AMERICANS ARE LIKE THAT UUUURGGHHH.....WHY DON'T YOU BLOW HIM WHILE YOU ARE AT IT....

  • @outlettered RESPECT...????WHY SHOULD WE HAVE RESPECT FOR YOU,WHEN EVERYTHING YOU DO IS INFERIOR...BRITAIN IS A VERY WEAK COUNTRY TOO,IT SEEMS LIKE THE MUSLIMS HAVE MORE SAY IN THINGS THEN THE BRIT CITIZEN...OOHHH WELL MAYBE IS NOT IGNORANCE...JUST A LITTLE NAIVE I GHUESS..

  • @mrjuan1120, for a startharry potter was made by haydey films in BRITAIN, avatar was a criminally over rated film! Yes there are GREAT American films out there! There are also shitty ones! And just because a film grossed a lot dosnt acctually make it good! (aka: avatar, yes it grossed a lot but it certainly isn't a film that will go down in history! If it does it will only be for the special effects)

  • what about "The Great Escape"?

  • Shocked by the ranking of Blue Velvet, though it's easily my favorite Lynch film and on my top 20. Natural Born Killers isn't nearly that high for me.

  • i love amelie

  • Here we are just icons movie but not all the rest. In my simple opinion, cinema is culture then it can't be classified. The proof is that you should put the entire Stanley Kubrick and Alfred Hitchcock biography in this "greatest hits".

  • Good job putting Seven Samurai in it's proper place at #1. I was getting worried there, for a second!

  • hahaha what? pride and prejudice? but you have some good ones there

  • an excellent list sir, well done!

also glad to see Kurosawa gettin his respecto.

I would have put Natural born Killers closer to the top than Scarface, but hell they only one away! :D Kudos!

  • EXCEPT V FOR VENDETTA.

THAT MOVIE IS NOT WORTHY OF THIS LIST COMPADRE

  • 12 Monkeys was 1996 bud...sick list by the way!

  • midnight cowboy at 69, immature but appropriate, and i think Schindler's list should be higher up

  • Sheesh, why do all this people take this lists religiously? Its his/her opinion. Its okay to disagree but dont be an ass about it. Go make a video yourselves, waste effort on it and then read the comments of a bunch of trolls insulting you and your mom. It aint nice!

Now to the video, Id personally have the Godfather as n1, but this list was very well made. You definitely know a thing or 2 about movies. I got a few more movies in my "to watch" list!

  • Very good list indeed, but what about Saving Private Ryan and The Notebook?

  • @djjonnern The Notebook??? My god are you having a laugh?? It doesnt belong in any credible top 1000 listing apart from a chick flick selection...and we all know they dont count! :)

  • @niall29 Niall..Niall..su..su..su...You must be irish don't you?? is not your fault that you are stupid and ignorant. No...the United States is #1 in film making we have the best technology..we have the best women...the best economy..etc.What the fuck does your country have..??answer:terrorists,cabbage and faggots..he..heh.heh...Niall envy is a motherfucker isn't..?? How much do you make per year..??do you have a job..?? huh?? fucking irish dickwad,America is #1 suck american dick..hahahah!!!

  • @mrjuan1120 Are you playing stupid or are you really that thick? You're representing the states now, you know. Have you ever seen a foreign film?

  • @fd9w4dncm Yes i have...but The United States has the best shit...period. You don't see lots of foreign films come out each year for the theaters do you..???very few,if it wasn't for the mighty USA this film making business will suck and it will be boring as hell....no one says.." oohhh...there is this great foreign film at the theaters let's go see it..!!" No..that shit never happens...get it..

  • @mrjuan1120 Actually, the reason not many foreign films show in the USA is because they are foreign. USA theaters show American movies. Japanese theaters show Japanese movies, German theaters show German movies. You probably STILL don't get my point because you're too ignorant.

  • @MapleSephiroth HERE IS THE TRUTH SHIT FOR BRAINS...FILMS FROM THE UNITED STATES ARE #1 ALL OVER THE WORLD...I'M NOT SAYING AMERICAN MOVIES ARE THE ONLY ONES...THEY ARE JUST BETTER THEN EVERYTHING ELSE OUTTHERE YOU FUCKING IDIOT. FOR EXAMPLE...PIRATES OF THE CARIBEAN...MADE MILLIONS...TITANIC...MADE MILLIONS...AVATAR..MADE MILLIONS...THE HARRY POTTER FILMS..FUCKING MILLIONS WORLDWIDE OK...AMERICAN FILMS DOMINATE,HOW YOU EVER BEEN IN GERMANY OR JAPAN..?? I HAVE SO KEEP YOUR DAMM MOUTH SHUT..

  • @mrjuan1120 Wow, you really are a troll. Do you have anger issues? Do you roam the depths of 4chan? I bet you do, because you have no life.

  • @mrjuan1120 And you.... lord have mercy! Whats the matter with you? Jst to let you know new movies in America are making millions but will never repeat the impact American movies USE to have.

  • very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very good!!!

  • Glad to See Akira Kurosawa getting the respect he deserves.

  • OMG...why is everyone so angry???? Just wanna congratulate you on your list. And I was happy to see 2 Python movies on it.

  • no fight club or se7en? lol

  • Im glad to see marathon man on that list and of cource blade runner!

  • lol u still have good taste but no titanic ?

  • My top 10 1. Pulp Fiction 2. Fanny & Alexander 3. A Clockwork orange 4. Stalker 5. The Lord of the rings 6. Terminator 2 7. Resevoir Dogs 8. North by nortwest 9. Persona 10.Fight Club
  • @GostaBerlingBloggen Stalker,very great movie

  • Aaah...finally! Finally a really great list! All importants and greatest movies are here involved! Great!

For me the Number 1 is The Lord of the Rings - TRILOGY (this is ONE movie...!)

  • stand by me should be in here too

  • The Lord of The Rings Return of the King is the best movie ever made!!

  • casablanca...top ten man...

what about lawrence of arabia, citizen kane, etc.

  • the Seven Samurais indeed the best!

  • WHAT wheres DANCES WITH WOLVES i never heard most of them ......................im so pissed lol..jk

  • Are you shittin me? your top ten were terrible. you suk

  • he just putted what he feels that is better for him!! do you know anything about liberty of expressing whatever??

  • One of the best lists I've seen so far. Nice to see someone who truly appreciates film.

  • honestly i can't agree with you at all!

  • 1.FIGHT CLUB

    2.American history X

these two are the best movies.!!!

  • where is the titanic?

  • @iJuStEriC LOL

  • You have a lot of good movies here (I loved to see Bergman and Monty Python), but I think you missed the greatest one: Gone with the Wind

  • oh, and i only mention avatar because it's extremely overrated. All it is is special effects. I'm sorry to the people who really like it, ecause i do to, but when you think about it, it's not that good :\

  • @iloveMJforeverrrrrrr actually if you really think a bit longer than you did and go deeper into the film youll understand its greatness. I know that the plot is a bit similar to other stories but the effects are way beyond any other film made before and "thats all I have to say about that"-Forrest Gump (My favorite movie!!)

  • @Youpornguide nothing can change my opinion, i just think that if you were reding a script you would be far more interested in films like lord of the rings or forrest gump than avatar, even though it's a great movie..

  • The movies you just mentioned are very good and are indeed in my favorite list. But you should rethink that it is way more difficult to do a script out of zero as avatar in comparison to lotr who came from a book. Also the plot isnt bad in comparison to other type of movies.

If you like movies with good plot you should check the movie: muppets against the alien mummies from outer space who are also zombies it has the best plot ive ever seen........

  • @Youpornguide No offense mate but Avatar came from a script as well it's called Pocahontas

  • @sirdavidrush1 Ha ha, nice one. I didn't feel Avatar was new, it was like I've seen it all before. Gj pointing that one out for me :)

  • I've got to say, the gretest film(s) i've ever seen has got to be Lord of the rings. It has the most amazing story and it's made a huge impact on me. It makes you feel like your a part of it and you feel the emotions they feel throughout the movie, especially at the end when they triumph. The acting is brilliant to and you really connect with the charactors. I'ts the most gripping thing i've even seen and in my opinion, beats Avatar by miles.

  • 1- Blind Chance ( Polish Movie ) 1984 2- Collateral 3- The English Patient 4- The Bourne Trilogy 5- Stalingrad ( german movie ) 6- Inglorious Basterds . 7- Casino . 8- Boss of the bosses . 9- Pursuit of happiness . 10- Goodbye Lenin ( german movie ) and a lotof great movies
  • Inglorious basterds is the worst movie ever made by tarantino. Pulp fiction and Jackie Brown are the best movies ever made.

  • pulp fiction is great but jackie brown , come on ...... i mean the first scene in inglorious basterds of colonel Hans Landa iterrogating the french guy is worth the whole jackie brown ....besides i think that the nazi officer character " Christofer Waltz " will be a strong candidate for the oscars this year ..

  • 1. shawshank redemption

    2. spirited away

    3. one flew over the cukoos nest

    4. the fellowship of the ring

    5. princess mononoke

    6. oldboy

    7. fight club

    8. american history X

    9. the assassination of jesse james by the coward robert ford

    10. raging bull

  • @badassmotherfuker your name is badass motherfuker and your fave film is shawshank redemption, are you fukin serious

  • @axelentertainmentAX um ya. Is there a problem? lol

  • Comment removed

  • Don't know if its a top 90 but I really liked A Bronx Tale.

  • world by peering out through sewer gratings. Enjoy this movie @ MovieWatcher(.)US

  • Great list! Didn't like Blue Velvet that much, and I am not a big warmoviefan, but I liked a lot of those movies...Cheers.

  • well done sir

best list I've seen yet !

    great taste of movies

  • to kill a mocking bird should be # 1

  • you are so sick man. worst list ever!!!!!!

  • Great list, you could've added in 2001: A Space Odyssey and Paths of Glory in there too though.

I'm gonna watch Seven Samurai tonight since I've heard it's so great.

  • great list out of the movies i have seen out of them they are all great

but nosferatu isnt it from like 1920 because there is not sound

  • i believe Nosferateau is from 1922, however his number fifteen pick, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, is even older, being produced in 1920. And Yes, both are without sound.

  • I wanted to put Monty Python & The Holy Grail on my top 100 list but I was afraid I would get criticized.

After Viewing this list I just might.

  • Pretty nice list. Some brave picks. Many people tend to mindlessly copy the AFI list. I like the choice of Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter...Spring (not many know about that one).

  • Not that Im saying they should be on your list but a couple of favorite movies of mine froma number of years past are the original 300 spartans and The Day of the Jackel

    .

  • OMG... Did i really just go through a list of the 90 greatest films of all time and not See Lawrence of Arabia, OR 2001: A Space Odyssey?..

Your list had a lot of diversity (and Kurosawa, which is a good thing), but a lot of glaring omissions (Like 2001... That's the movie that people 10,000 years from now are gonna watch, and really make them wonder about us... It is, WITHOUT A DOUBT, the finest example of cinema ever produced)..

  • citizen kane is the best movie ever made,

  • You need to watch films more closely. Natural born Killers, awful film! Scarface , monumentally bad. Where was heavenly creatures, and the original Vanishing? How about The Killing Fields?I have to agree with Crzyman, this was a waste of time! So was typing this!

  • Ben-Hur

  • Wizard of Oz

    Planet of The Apes (original)

    The Exorcist

    Gone with the Wind

    Citizen Kane

    E.T

    Saving Private Ryan

  • you also need 2001: A Space Oddessey.

  • i agree with alot of them, ( although i was getting worried that The shining and A Clockwork orange werent gonna be on there. but they were on there. i agree with psycho too. but you forgot Vertigo, The Outsiders, Goodfellas, Gladiator, Basic Instinct and Raising arizona.

  • where is passion of the Christ? or citizen Kane, Frankenstein, Titanic, Bringing up baby, E.T, the Exorcist, The Wizard of Oz..there are so many more

  • all I gotta say is "what a WASTE of time!"

what the hell is with all the japanese samurai movies!! ur just action crzy!
