@Kittysafe thats a good point to debate or reflect upon. izo, as the character , is definitely in a primitive, essential state of nihilism until the turn at the end. I think the movie does spare some things... not as "golden paradise" as western ideals, sure thing, but it does treat nirvana with respect towards the last scenes. at least, in my reflection.
Re: song subtitles. Depends on the edition of the DVD. I've seen two about, one of them has better subtitles in my opinon (deeper somehow). Unfortunately thought its not the edition with the song translations :(
The video is a little out-of-context. It's a scene from Takashi Miike's film "Izo." It's a very unique film that deals pretty heavily in themes of existentialism. It's a good one, but it takes a couple viewings at times. It's worth it though, in my opinion.
this is a movie you know. and his songs are an entegral utmost interresting part of this movie. and yes would you say someone is ignorant to sing a song about death and the sad way of things at a macaber time ? just because he does sing in japanese and not in your language ?? whats wrong tmoney.
this is one of the msot powerful moments of the film. When miike shows our ignorance and lies have not only destoryed us, but our children as well. So emotional, music helps so much
IZO o kadara karışık ve bir o kadarda mükemmel bir film... Müzikleri ise filmin karışık ve sert havasına yumruk gibi iniyor.. Herşeyiyle 4/4 lük bir film ...
This film is great, and the music too. The songs from Kazuki Tomokawa are instrumental versions of the album "Itsuka Tooku o Miteita". No album for film's versions of the songs.
There is no one on Earth that has more conviction than this man. Totally brilliant. I'm glad I saw this film, as it turned me on to one of my favorite musicians. Thanks Miike-san!
Probably one of the best and THE most insane movie ever!
