Or use Microsoft Virtual PC, it works fine for me, then install XP straight from the disk (if you have one). I just used a all in one disk to install my copy in Microsoft Virtual PC!

windows 8 is comming with hypher-v which will be much better with complete virtualization and i bet we will be able to run lots of OS(unix,linux, bsd, mac,previous windows-xp,vista,7) not just xp i guess in other hand we can grab virtualbox or vmware to run any OS And these two can work with or without hardware virtialization

You CAN Virtualize without VT -x(Virtualization) you just can't virtualize 64-bit Operating systems.

@Xxwwehd606158450Xx No. It's normal ISO which I'm trying to map as Guest OS using VMWare/VirtualBox... whatever works. But I'm not able to make it to work really. It says Virtualization not supported; indeed it's supported and VT Technology enabled in BIOS. The "Locked On" status confirms that hardware virtualization is supported; but instead of Securable just showing "Yes", it's showing "Locked On". I guess that's the cause of trouble... please tell me if there is solution.

@ruturaaj If it doesn't work you might as well enable it because when it says locked on it might mean its not enabled same thing with mine. but since i installed it it worked but i did not enabled it. Now the way its supposed work is if you download Virtual pc and then try to see if it works.

I still have windows for games, but for everything else I use Linux, and Steam works on Linux Ubuntu... Most game emulators work in Linux... WOW works in Linux, Call of Duty will work in Linux... You would have to use WINE, vmWare, Play-on-Linux, or Parallels for Linux ...

For a virus to get on a Linux distribution it would first need ROOT password that the user would have to give it permissions. Plus most Linux users get their software from the software repository that has been tested... Our software is Open Source this means we can look at the code , and that makes it hard for anyone to hide a virus... I mean you can't hide in the open to long before some one sees you.

What CPU do you have? First, you have to make sure that your CPU supports Virtualization Technology. If it doesn't, then you;re SOL. If it does, than you have to go into the BIOS and enable VT. Most Intel CPUs come with VT already enabled, as far as I know, so I'm assuming that you're on a retail comp and not a custom build? Oh, and an easy way to find what CPU you have is hit Windows key + Break, and look under System>Processor. Hope this helps!
