That reminds me slightly of the tune on the Railway Children that Bernard Cribbins sings, probably written around the same time. As a folky I loved this traditional ditty. Good stuff.

Very well sung. It reminds me of Burl Ives in style, the singer whose recordings first introduced me to folk music.
