The part where she kisses his gross skeletal face isn't even IN the movie! I wactched the entire thing specifically for that moment. What gives? I still really liked it and stuff, but still..
@spacedog94 Trailers are generally created before the final cut of a film by a separate production company -- some of the best preview footage never makes it to the final product.
Dr Phibes...I have them all...never get sick of watching them either ...high gothic camp at its best,,,,Vincent Price's mechanical orchestra has been un many of my nightmares,,,9 shall die,9 eternities doomed!..fantastic !!..thankyou Sophie xx
Oh, yes, I adore Vincent Price! This movie was so corny and cheesy I loved it even as a child watching it in re-run! Some ugly images that stick with me to this day!
Porbably my most favourite horro of all time...what other film combines so many great elements with vincent price bringing it all together in one great perfromance....THIS FILM RULES
That was the great voice actor Paul Frees (Boris Badinov) speaking the last sentence about "the the most terrifying motion picture you'll ever see" if I'm not mistaken.
Mwahahahahahaha.A real Doctor who pays house calls.Vincent Price was great in these types of roles. He had the scary quality to him that was perfect for Doctor Phibes.
As the pipes for a theatre organ fill several rooms, linked to the console by electrical cables, it would hardly be reasonable for the set builders to have built a working organ; what they did was to put an non-playing organ console on the set and the sound was dubbed in later.
At a guess, I'd suggest that if Vincent Price was 'playing' any actual piece of music, it might be Widor's Toccata.
Yes, the music was "War March of the Priests" from the suite composed by Felix Mendelssohn to accompany Racine's "Athalia", but that was not what Vincent Price was actually playing - his hand and body movements do not match the music! It's a pity that the whole title sequence has not been uploaded, or this would surely be obvious - there are flamboyant flourishes with his right hand in the middle of a treble section, which would plainly be impossible.
I remember seeing this when I was a kid, vincent price in this rolde scared the hell out of me, he always seemed so in charge, like he always knew what to do next and I believe he was truly a evil man.. :46 sec. mark and 2:07.. you hear vincent prices voice but his mouth isnt moving. THAT freaked me out. Also at the :46 mark its (am I correct about this?) gavin mccloud from the old t v series about the supernatural. Was it called the ghosthunter?
Nope. Darren McGavin wasn't in this movie. And his horror/comedy Tv series was called "Kolchak: The NightStalker". Which is out on DVD now. Gavin MacLeod was Captain Stubing of the "Love Boat". He never did anything supernatural.
Anton Phibes, that elegant Edwardian musician and murderer, gliding through a world of Art Nouveau sets as he strikes down his victims one by one. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
Vincent price is an amazing actor!

Anyone know what organ this was recorded on? It sounds like the Willis in Royal Albert Hall. In the actual film, it was recorded on a theatre organ.
