I think people need to understand that nearly all of the gun owners in the United States, dont have criminal intent. In fact, we choose own a fire arm, for a simple reason. If guns are "really" the problem... why is it victims of violent crimes often purchase fire arms after-wards? Very, very rarely are legally purchased firearms used in crimes. That would be even lower, but shooting someone breaking into your house is counted as a criminal action.

Since when is Ft Hood a gun free zone? it was a military camp full of all kinds of weapons, plus a military police that was suppose to protect and patrol the camp.

I think people need to understand that nearly all of the gun owners in the United States, dont have criminal intent. In fact, we choose own a fire arm, for a simple reason. Defense, but that absolutely DOES NOT mean, we want to use our firearm on anyone. Its just there, if we need to use it, and heaven forbid, i ever need to use a firearm on someone. Gun owners, are not saying everyone should own a gun, but we believe that if you so choose to own one responsibly and with good intent. Go for it.

If guns are "really" the problem... why is it victims of violent crimes often purchase fire arms after-wards? Very, very rarely are legally purchased firearms used in crimes. That would be even lower, but shooting someone breaking into your house is counted as a criminal action.
The founding Fathers did get the 2nd amendment wrong, as it should be mandatory to own a firearm as it Is in Switzerland. Who I might remind you has one of the lowest crime rates in the world, if not the lowest.

Before 1968 there were no background checks, you could order the guns sent to your home.
Now, since you've probably lived your whole life being ingrained thinking that the 68 gun control act was of benefit to society, you'll never want to revert to those days where our rights were less impeded.
As for people with mental illness, that's just discrimination because it presumes that they have a propensity for violence. Mentally ill people are no more violent than anyone else on average.

Since when is Ft Hood a gun free zone? it was a military camp full of all kinds of weapons, plus a military police that was suppose to protect and patrol the camp.
Also, four armed police men were shot at a coffee shop a couple months ago, it's didn't give them any protection did it?

I wish that you'd do your research before you spout off ignorance. The area of Ft. Hood where the shooting took place, my friend, was indeed a GUN FREE ZONE. Officers are not permitted to carry their side arms and it was quite obvious that the MPs were't sufficient protection to save the lives of those 13 people.
And yes 4 officers were killed in Washington and it was truly a tragedy. A gun isn't guaranteed protection, I never said that it was. But let the facts speak. Gun free zones kill.

Yeah thats the "free speech" we get. I doubt a pro constitution middle American is going to be hired as a news anchor any time soon, better yet the editor of a newspaper. Remember how the news presented the AWB back in the 90s? They told us it was just a law against fully automatic weapons and it wouldnt affect popular semi automatics. The "information" we get is often BS, thus we never see unconstitutional bills comming our way.
