No, just the HDMI cable. Audio should go through the HDMI cable only.

Monitor speakers SUCK big time though, so I'm gonna invest on those extra wires. But I'm confused on how to simultaneously get PC and PS3 sound through the same speakers, without having to switch cables every time. :/

NEED HELP! the monitor wont show video unless both the hdmi cable is connected with the ps3 and monitor (through adapter), and the component cables are plugged into the ps3 and any one of the three colors (red, yellow blue) is plugged into any possible slot you can put the component in on any tv input, and it doesn't matter weather the tv is on, off, or even unplugged. I've tried the two beeps, resetting the ps3 settings, dialing down the resolution, etc. (all the basic solutions.) any ideas?

For those looking for the audio connector, it is called RCA 3.5mm Female or Male (depends on speakers), they have these cables everywhere from ebay to radioshack, hope this helped some of you out :)

Hey there. I have a slight problem, I hooked up my PS3 to my PC Monitor (which is a Acer p201W) and it did show the PS3 screen when I reset the visual settings, but when I hit optimal settings, it goes to 1080i, and it stretches out past the monitor, cutting off a large portion of the screen. Is there a way I can fix this?

I'm having a problem, I've connected the screen and the playstation to each other properly with the old fashioned red-white-yellow cables, and also both to the electric socket. Yet when I turn on the ps3 and the tv the screen remains blue when i cycle through video 1, 2 and 3 and DVD. Earlier it used to show up on video 1.
