WRONG, as the RX9... sure, the facelift was probably not the best facelift ever seen, but that's not important... what's important, is that Mazda does not see the error of their way, when they replace the RX8... It doesn't need a quart of oil every week, you need to change the oil every 5000 - 8000 kilometers, moreover deasil engine oil is actually beneficial to a rotary. If you live anywhere outside of deep winter you might consider a deasil 15/40 weight for your rotary. That said, if you don't keep up with the oil injection fact, your engine will blow up. The car doesn't suck because you can't keep up regular maintenance, the car is boss, and you're murdering it.

This video is terrible... first of all it wasn't ever going to be a 1.8L rotary, it was always a 1.6L. And, a rotary engine doesn't burn a quart of oil a week, it should burn that much oil in say... 3,000 miles? If you drive that in a week, well then... what the hell are you driving an RX-8 for?

In fact, there is a small pump on the engine which mixes a small amount of oil with the fuel to lubricate the gas seals in the engine. I have 260k on my daily driver, and I go through a quart of oil a week. I'm merely saying what it SHOULD go through according to the basic user experience. I'm dropping in my rebuilt and streetported engine tomorrow in fact, because I'm tired of the oil/coolant being burned every time I drive.

I owned an FC for a while and the OMP gasket went but at the time I had no idea wtf I was doing with it so I scrapped it. I have very few expenses (rent, phone, food) so I could easily afford to drive and maintain an FD. There's a place not far from me called Forcefed. About 4 hours west. They're pretty good. My buddy just had them rebuild his FD with a 2 year warranty.
