the weird thing here is that alot of people who reject religion, as myself, quickly become prejudice towards those that do not. Why is your decision to choose science over faith a stumbling block towards having an understanding and loving position towards believers. I find that most atheist are, in the end, merely haters. I do not believe in a god. But the reason is based in personal experience. Not a quest to advance myself and become better than others or make myself out to be the smart guy.
Why would anyone have to choose science over religion or religion over science? Neither are 100% accurate (as we have them) and neither are 100% false. They're not mutually exclusive. There's a lack of context in both arenas and too much bias. Science itself is not biased, it is atheists who think they are "choosing" it over religion. Same with religion. Can a man not choose both? I do.
I respect what you are saying though, about loving and understanding. Kudos.

Each method of money making lends itself toward more deception or less truth, ect. ect. So if you were a politician you can say you like god and then you might get more votes but a biology professor should probably choose science over religion. But whether there is a God or not, science is involved. God is not magic. Maybe He is a being that can operate on a higher dimensional plane, but whatever He does is science. Perhaps He used evolution to progress to man, or perhaps what He did just appears like evolution to our limited understanding of science. Science eventually may turn up more accurate answers, and it might discover the method of God's works -we don't know. But choosing either over the other is retarded.
I've thought of that, but there are too many instances that contradict. The variations that bring about celibacy, sex as "sinful", and one partner within marriage seem to promote population control over reproduction as an animal behavior. Judeo-Christian religions in particular promote family, and while similar structures are found throughout the animal kingdom, there is a distinct difference with us. We have a whole range of moral struggles rather than one instinctive way.

I don't think Darwin was all wrong, but Darwin's theory never said we are monkeys with big brains. Our common ancestor is so far back that isn't even accurate. Our brains are bigger, more efficient, more complex, etc. Plus our hearts, our emotions, creativity, and our psycho-intellect separate us.
Humans are so much more than ruled by instincts. We've learned to control our instincts and even change them. Many of us are motivated by humor, love, drugs, music, religion,etc.

@dark1in2finity I was always told LSD was "bad" until I researched it and came to the conclusion that trying it once wouldn't be so bad. So I tried it and it really expanded my consciousness to the point that I believe our "ego" is simply an illusion. Since then I take time everyday to help others in need and i'm more appreciative of everything we take for granted in life. I give back just as much as I take and my relationships have improved and I feel very happy and mellow during the day.

as penrose stated a while ago, the similarities between the collapse of the wave function due to acts of observation and measurement, and how we now believe consciousness to work are very akin, whilst i also believe having a wonderful fractal quality attached to them. the generel cliches about hardware, software ,design and purpose do have some merit but from then on it is still a matter of faith, though hope would be a more sincere ideal.

They are using the right tools, it has taken the blue brain project 15 years to record and properly simulate roughly 10 thousand neurons. About the size of a pin prick, and this is the rat's brain that they are simulating.
