Wow.. You watch that last moment, you can -see- the oncoming bike -glance off his helmet-! Yes, the front tire -actually made contact-, though -barely-. If it wasn't for his helmet that would have still been a serious injury.

An sadly no one's at fault here, just mechanical failure at a -really- bad time. Thank goodness no one got really hurt. Bikes can be rebuilt. Humans.. not nearly as easily, or sometimes at all!
