Send Chucky to Libya to fight along side Al CIA-duh. We are back to being the Air Force for the jihad, like we were in Kosovo. Anwar Al Awlaki is dining with the Pentagon brass. The war on terror is a fraud. 9-11 was a 100% inside job. Bin laden's CIA alias is Tim Osman. We put the underwear bomber on the plane. infowarsdotcom
I love you guys but Chuckie from little green footballs is the biggest scumbag ever. Don't touch that guy with a ten foot barge pole, figuratively speaking.
I respect this guy for speaking out against Palin, Limbaugh, Beck, birthers, and creationists. He seems like a reasonable guy, but he still thinks the Iraq War was a good idea?
I think the point about the Iraq War is that he would still endorse going to war with Iraq, but not handle it the same way that the Bush administration did.
So is basic excuse for taking down Sadam in Iraq was because they were weaker so we can pick on them easier without as much of a fight Bully logic... but at least he's honest.
Cenks a genius if he said what he said on purpose. When he asked what little green footballs meant and the guy didn't answer Cenk said "I'm going to guess it was illicit" so the guy would go in defensive mode and say what ut was to proive it WAS NOT illicit. Brilliant strategy Cenk, I do the same thing all the time LOL
it was one of his comments deep in one of his blog posts. i can't be arsed to find it now, but he basically whinged like a baby and said "what a dick" regarding Cenk pressing him on iraq.
Any guesses on what "little green footballs" refers to? The guy is cryptic about it, but claims it's not anything dirty. Sports toys? Wasabi nuggets? Feces???
This guy completely failed on the Kim Jong-il question. Every reason he gave for invading Iraq could be copy and pasted onto North Korea. And I can't believe he actually said that the only reason we went for Iraq and not for N.Korea is because N.Korea actually stood a chance and Iraq had less than zero. Other than that he didn't piss me off really. A good sign.
His position on social issues is really a non-factor in the determination of whether he is 'Right' or 'Left'. 'Right' and 'Left' are determined by the political economy position as to how one stands on the ownership and distribution of property and private wealth in general.
Libertarians agree with most liberals on social positions, but they are not 'Left'; their economic position puts them solidly on the right, farther to right than even the republicans, and even more disastrous for the country at that. And on the larger scale the democrats are not really 'Left' now days either anyway.
Rundstedt1, I think the fiscal description you used for "right" and "left" was correct before Regan and still correct in the rest of the world.
Since Regan though, "cultural conservative" increasingly best describes the GOP and, by proxy, "right".
Take the present front runner for the GOP, Sarah Palin. As a Canadian fiscal conservative I no more identify with her than I do Mickey Mouse for president.
She is farther to the right economically also, most repubs. in the US are farther to the right. The demo. party is closer to where the repub. party was in the past. There has been a grand shift to the right here. And, although it is rare today, one could be 'left' and also be a 'cultural conservative' such was the case of Steven Crane, the author of 'Red Badge of Courage' who was a socialist but also a raving bigot. So the only constant determination of left/right remains the economic position.
Anyway, Canada seems to have retained its more of sanity, something one has to question about the American collective nature lately. And I sometimes wonder if our politicians know right from left... And I don't mean politically... I mean I wonder who ties their shoes in the morning. Particularly those obviously bought out like Lieberman.
Come on, this guy hasn't been right-wing for a while (Or American right-wing). It's like saying Andrew Sullivan has been a right-winger for the last 6 years. Having a slightly aggressive stance on foreign policy doesn't make you right-wing.
I have been frequenting the website for a while, and am fully aware of the article (Same for Andrew Sullivan). It is topically relevant, but I just think we shouldn't be shocked about it.
well we could get closer to having complete peace if people thought of it as we are a tribe for those who read this and care what im talking about pogobat we are a tribe vid its something worth watching
All neo-conservatives are like Charles, they are socially liberals and non-religious. The number one priority for them is Israel's security. Not that they don't care about th US, no, They are genuinely think that US and Israel interests are one and the same.
I really hate it when people use the "I used to be X, but now I'm Y" argument, because it leads to a literal mountain of logical fallacies. Now, obviously I prefer the way this guy is headed, but still... People use these kinds of changes in political philosophy as empirical evidence for any number of things.
But bear in mind that being LIBERAL means that you're in favor of individual rights - which is what the Conservatives claim. And I'd never hold voting against JK for prez against anyone.

It appears that even an old dog can learn new tricks. Could it be a case of spiritual growth with this blogger? Or is he just an atheist neocon?

Check out his blog, though, as LLORT3 just pointed out. He hasn't learned much at all, it seems. =/

i guess when you get called out on embarrassing views you are going to get defensive. too bad, he was doing really well until then.

I wish they would've discussed on the right wing insanity on the social side of things instead of general foreign policy.
Wasn't littlegreenfootballs the site that brought down Dan Rather after they figured out that document on Bush's military service was fake?

The dirty secret of the Republicans:
They are on the Iranian side, and were all along.
They sold arms to the Iranians.
They made a deal to keep the hostages until Reagan into power.
The Iranians are keeping the price of oil high, which is good for the oil industry.
