I gave up my childhood indoctrinated superstitions. This was because I could not reconcile the contradictions in the bible with my critical faculties. I could not accept the horror of the threaths made by the "meek and mild" Jesus. He made us, he knows everything we will do. Even from before our birth he knows if our fate will be the "fires of hell". Further, I do not accept that if we are faulty form birth, we deserve to be burned in this way. The fault is his. I live my life if peace now.

To them the literal concept of existence had everything to do with the function the world around them. To us the literal concept of existence has everything to do with the material substance of the world around us. You enforce creationism by agreeing with their interpretations failing to discern between these radically different ways of thinking about the universe.

Theres one thing that confuses me tho DarthVega. In the ten comandments its says that there is only one god and that they should never praise any gods before him. So what I gather from that is that if a buddist who may believe in different gods from our own would be damned in hell because of it. Even if this person may have never harmed another or for that matter even a fly. But a sinner for example a serial rapist or pedifile can ask for fogiveness and be given entry into the kingdom of heaven?

It's not possible that God's original plan could have changed. Since God is all knowing, He would have known man would rebel. Also we find in John that the Word (Jesus) is co-eternal. He was in the beginning, He wasn't created as a backup plan.

The salvation experience in which one receives the Holy Spirit and a radically changed life is evidence of the vadility of Christianity. Unfortunately, most self-professing Christians are hypocrites and not born of the Spirit. They are the reason why God's name is blasphemed among the lost.

If someone claims to be a Christian yet they live just like everyone else in the world, it's proof that they are not born-again. A true Christian will have a heart change. Their lives will be God centered. They will have a love and compassion towards others that the rest of the world doesn't have. This is because they've received the power of the Holy Spirit. God is dwelling in them. Salvation is a super-natural work of God, NOT some choice we make on our part.

In Matthew 7 we find out that many will say Lord Lord on the judgment day but few of them will be allowed in. Jesus calls them workers of iniquity and says "Depart from me I never knew you." Jesus says only those who do the will of the Father will enter in. This is not works-based salvation, salvation is based entirely on faith in Christ. But the deeds of the flesh is the evidence of what is in the heart.

Belief in Jesus is not the way of salvation. At least, not in the way we understand it. Most people think that simply means to mentally accept Jesus as savior or pray the sinner's prayer. But what they miss is other verses in which Jesus says things like, you must be born-again (John 3:3) and many parables in which Jesus claims there will be false converts. Being born-again signifies a fundamental change in one's life.

Plz don't slit your throat open to find the Adam's apple. You have to think, even until today. The story like Adam and Eve is still occurring. Many women would leave her men for materials, her own goals, and desires. It also means whoever is trying to seduce a woman, mislead her life will also end up like a snake, crawling on the ground for the rest of your life, and will be stomp on the head by the society. Nothing new here, you make major assumptions to come to the conclusions you reach. You must believe in the dating methods by faith since they have all been shown to be unreliable past a few thousand years at best. In reality every 'proof' you use can be proven to not be as much of a sure thing as you seem to indicate. Then answer this one question. How possibly could have star light that is 10 billion light years away be observed by Earth's telescopes if Earth and the Universe are only 6,000 years old? And explanation must be based on scientific reasoning. If you creationist want to dabble in science then dont give some half-ass answer like "God stretched the heavens." Either you use science to support your claims or you get over yourselves and stop trying to refute science you know absolutely nothing about.

Only one God? Is it the one that forbids me to eat pork or can still go to my favorite BBQ restaurant? Is it the God that makes my wife cover her hair or can she still wear a bikini when we go to the beach? Is it the God that hates homosexuals and doesnt want them represented under the same laws as all other US citizen? Not all prayer is answered with a yes. Also make sure you're praying to the real God revealed in the bible, and not a false God created by man, or yourself in your own mind.

You don't need faith to know there's a God. Creation is the big "duh". You need faith in God if you want Him to do something for you (salvation). God will save you only if you humble yourself, because He resists the proud (James 4:6). God reveals Himself to humanity saving them and giving them His Holy Spirit to dwell within them, and a changed heart.

If God were to show Himself to you right now, you would die (Exodus 33:20). Jesus said only the pure in heart will see God (in eternity).

Sin has corrupted all of us to our core. The bible says our hearts are deceitfully wicked, and our minds are carnal and wicked. Technically no sin is worse than any other, it's all damnable. You can't trust your feelings, no one can. What we need is a heart change, we need God to supernaturally fix our corrupt nature.

You should spare some of the faith you invest so much in the bible and put at little bit in humanity as well. I used to be desperately wicked, before I knew God and He changed me. It's very freeing to know that I've been saved from hell, I have a God that loves me and wants to bless me and not curse me. He's pouring that love into my life so I can share it with others. He's changed me completely. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. There's nothing wrong with thinking lowly of oneself. God's love is amazing, there's nothing greater. He can do the same for you my friend.

What exactly is so special about your religion? Mind you, every religion has a Book claiming to be the true path to "god". In fact, every member of a religion is able to experience spirituality. So then, what evidence is there to set Christianity apart from Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.?

We think we're pretty good people, but the word deceitful is key. If we took time to look at ourselves in the light of God's law (ten commandments) we would see our true nature. God considers lust to be the same as adultery, and hatred and anger to be the same as murder. Christianity is the only religion that is not works-based. You can't do enough good to earn reward, in fact, you can't do any good on your own. It is the only religion that is not man-centered.

Christianity says, you can't do it. God must save you. No other religion says that.

You're right about two things: one, that last statement, if humanity was judged, all would be damned, all have fallen short of the glory of God. The bible says the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, many enter through it.

And you're right that it IS natural to sin, but that doesn't make it ok. Are you really going to stand before God and blame your actions on Him? You're responsible for what you do, what you say, and what thoughts you dwell on.

Check out the ten commandments. We aren't good people according to God, it really doesn't matter what we think of ourselves. You don't have to be damned, there is another option. You'll have to let go of this notion of goodness though. I pray you'll consider it.

God's standard is perfection, not just outwardly but inwardly. Our intentions need to be pure. This is impossible with man, but with God, all things are possible. Salvation through Jesus Christ is the free gift that is offered to you today, you don't have to face judgment. The price has already been paid.

No amount of good works can save a criminal in court, and it won't work on Judgment day. Imagine if you just sinned only 5 times a day. In a course of seventy years, that's 127,837 sins. Can you imagine breaking the law that many times on earth?  God won't let a soul get away with any of it. Salvation is the only way out.

Go ahead, I dont have anything to hind. For the last week I havent thought about much, other than studying for my medical exams. What could I possibly be so ASHAMED about? These scare-tactics are nothing new, you convict someone on thought crime and therefore they must repent. It is a perpetual cycle, for you will always find something to convict them on. I didn't commit the original sin, so why does God judge me? Only religion to convict their followers for crimes of another.

Look at the 10 commandments, plus what Jesus said about lust and anger. If you've kept them, you've got nothing to worry about. If you've broken even one, once, you need a Savior. God will have His day in court with humanity, and it won't be pretty. God has seen everything, nothing is hid from Him. Only you can be honest with yourself on this. Listen to your conscience. If you're found guilty, it's eternity in hell. You don't have to go there, and God doesn't want to send you there.

I want to be religious because part of me believes or I wouldn't get chills when I hear of Gods miracles, but the dinosaur thing for example conflicts me. If we were made right after the earth, where did the dinosaurs come from and if something destroyed them, wouldnt it have destroyed us too? I thought it was going to be a theological argument from science but it turned out to just be the same old science argument that we all have heard 472 million times. The first 4 videos in this series serve to demonstrate the Creationist view point and how a literal interpretation of the Bible leads to skewed perception of reality. However, the purpose of Christ is forever bound to Adam. Therefore, even if you dont take the Bible literally, the purpose of Christ is diminished if you dont accept Adam was a real man.

Dear Ron Biggs Sigzdi-Sigz, Why do women still feel pain during child birth? Because they are made to lay on their backs by doctors. Word on the street is: giving birth ought be like squatting out a, kicking, meat dump in the woods. It's supposed to be a little less painful... or so I hear. Excellent video Andy. ..When i was about 10, i watched the tv series "Jesus of Nazareth" .. in episode 2 when jesus actaully appeared on screen, i wept uncontrollably, thinking it really WAS him, He looked EXACTLY like i'd seen him in all my biblical picture books, It truly broought the stories to life . Then, years later, i realised it was all a big fairy story, and i grew out of it.
