i wanna be a botanist someday i know it doesn't pay a lot as it should but i love it knowing whats edible what's poisonous how to make flavors for other foods :) it just shows me a great view to the world thanks for this video very helpful i was also playing the games with you guys and actually learned something best of all i learned in a fun way xD i'm a beginner in botany also thanks again ill try to get your book as soon as i get some money :)
I've only recently become interested in identifying wild plants. _Botany in a Day_ is the best book I've found...more useful than all the other resources I've come across combined. Most sources of information are completely overwhelming to the beginner, offering no clue where to begin or how to get a big picture. Thanks for this wonderful book, and this video was a really nice quicky reinforcement. Well done!
I'd be interested to hear your take on some of the recent reclassifications of various plants. As I recall, all members of the Hydrophyllaceae are now included in the Boraginaceae. Steershead (once Fumariaceae) is now in the Papaveraceae. That's just a couple examples. Sequence analysis is quite interesting and provides valuable insights, but it doesn't help when it comes to recognizing plants in the field. Maybe when sequence analysis becomes really fast there will be an app for that too! LOL

@judomoose00 Thanks for your interest! Both books and the game are sold on our website, either separate, or bundled together for a package discount.

Found a great gift for Hannah, Thomas Elpel is a genius. This is a must for any parent that wants to broaden their child's horizons.
