Hundreds of military trucks seen on the roadways and many armed police, including rooftop marksmen.
How can we forget that the people today in Tibet are re-distributed their lands snatched during Religious rule? How can the intellectual students like us be brainwashed of sponsored propaganda by western media? If their are any shortcomings in present Tibet, then let's discuss but let's not be the part of Imperialist US and it's follower capitalist nations conspiracy to break China and fulfill their political interests. Isn't it true that the religious leaders and Dalai Lama himself divided the society into three sects: Fudual Monks, Second class Lamas and Serfs, simply to suppress and exploit the 2nd and third class peoples in the name of religious ruling? I wager that you would grieve over the death of a loved one, yet you downplay the killing of countless innocent people. You have not personally felt the pain of being kicked out of your homeland. The Tibetan people who have suffered so much pain deserve much more respect.
You also talk about the many atrocities that have occurred worldwide in the past. They happened at a time when the world was insensitive to the plight of those who were conquered. Thankfully, we live in an era where people show more compassion for their fellow human beings. It may be too late to help most of the conquered people you mentioned, but Tibet was invaded only 50 years ago. There is still hope for independence or at least autonomy as the Dalai Lama suggested.

The Dalai Lama was working with the CIA to take back Tibet by creating Tibetan guerillas. They were trained by the CIA in the States. I know this because my uncle was one of the men who were trained. I am from UK, not China, my government do not steal from Tibet, and if they do sorry I don't know. Also, as I said before, I do not agree with a lot of what the Chinese do, e.g.Fur Trade, deforestations, Animals for medicine. However I do not see how Tibet will improve without China.

I have just watched part 2 of this and I am disgusted in what was said, 'Free Tibet before Free Trade'. People are working countless hours for barely money in China to produce goods you use, however you are willing to let that carry on because of something they can not change. Were civilians in Pol Pot's Cambodia held responsible or Hitler's Germany? They weren't, and neither should the Chinese civilians.

Current president of China Hu Jintao was party secretary to Tibet. In 1989 he declared the brutal period of Marshall Law inside Tibet. I do not see why the Dalai Lama is seen as such a hero. He hasn't achieved anything, Gandhi and Martin Luther king adopted a non-violent approach and achieved something. The Dalai Lama just ran, if Churchill ran would he be seen as a hero or would the film '300' have been made if the Spartans ran? in my opinion he seems to be a coward and hasn't achieved anything, but people still think he is a hero.
Even Dalai Lama has lost all his hope on Tibet. He knew that China has already becaome a great country in the world. It only becomes stronger and stronger. That was why he has publically begged China to give him some government position. He should really know that China certainly won't take him back and put him in any government position. that is just his own wishful thinking.
Tibetan people love to be part of China. I have Tibetan classmates in college. They all take China as their motherland. The original Tibetan exiles escaped to India 48 years ago in 1959 are either died or too old to talk or walk. They already have lost all the hope. Their next generation have never been in China or Tibet since they were born. They know nothing about Tibet or China.

If Tibet was indeed an independent country. It would already be invaded by Britain and today be part of India. How can nomads with no excess to modern health care, schools be richer. If Tibet was richer, then Tibet will be even richer with money poured in to build schools, roads, houses, railroad infrastructures etc.
Btw I am not against a free Tibet, I just believe there is a lot worse going on in the world and there are disputes over land and independence everywhere and always will be, however war is much worse. So I believe it will come when China and Tibet are ready to do it peacefully, like when Britain granted Tibet's independence. However the occupation of Palestine should end, it is killing thousands and nothing is being done to make peace, US and UK just sell more weapons to the occupiers.
You just want to campaign against a communist country. Plus they are not worse off with china that without. Free Palestine and Iraq! There are many worse conflicts going on. I believe by making 'tibet' free could cause a lot more trouble, e.g. border confrontations. You claim that Tibet was once free, however America was once free from the Europeans, so why not free the Americas? I say concentrate on conflicts happening now and not an argument over land, after all attachment can cause suffering.
I think that China should just free tibet or at least give some of their land back, it isnt fair that china keeps occupying tibet like that, and for that reason i will never recongnize tibet as a part of china!

Do a google search and watch the video from the latest escorted visit by the BBC in Tibet. The oppression and control is obvious. Police, plain clothes and otherwise, Chinese wouldn't let the Tibetans talk to the BBC reporter and in one case a monk was asked a question and the Chinese interpreter changed his answer. Hundreds of military trucks seen on the roadways and many armed police, including rooftop marksmen.

China invade Tibet long long ago before Dalai Lama was borne 2000 years ago before European invaded America. The only answer is it was under China's early dynasty. These european know nothing but democracy, do they know their ancestors invade China including Tibet province. CAn they be so nice to our tibetan, built a railways and give them special privileges such as mongolian and Hongkong Special Administration Region.

Dalai Lama and other Tibetan separatists are basically tools of anti-China groups, including some western countries and Taiwan. I believe most of the ppl who spread hatred messages here have never been to Tibet of China. It was a state of SLAVERY before PLA took it over from Dalai Lama. Dalai himself is the leader of slave masters. Slaves were punished by eye gouging and other physical sufferings-- Tibet had never been free. And 'Free Tibet' is a big fat lie.

I wouldn't care if they took my country about 50 years ago and took them out of slavery but is now benefiting my country.
Britain was invaded by the romans, normans, viking and saxons and they all benefited us in one way or another, but they killed our people. But i feel no hatred towards the italians, french and scandinavians and protest against them.

A reason why Tibet should be free? Because Tibet belongs to the Tibetan people, not to the Chinese. The Chinese are flooding into Tibet and soon us Tibetans will be the minority in their own homeland. I wager that you would grieve over the death of a loved one, yet you downplay the killing of countless innocent people. You have not personally felt the pain of being kicked out of your homeland. The Tibetan people who have suffered so much pain deserve much more respect.

You also talk about the many atrocities that have occurred worldwide in the past. They happened at a time when the world was insensitive to the plight of those who were conquered. Thankfully, we live in an era where people show more compassion for their fellow human beings. It may be too late to help most of the conquered people you mentioned, but Tibet was invaded only 50 years ago. There is still hope for independence or at least autonomy as the Dalai Lama suggested.

Ok i understand what you are saying...but again you say tibet belongs to tibet, but it has been under chinese or british rule for centuries. And you could say the same about israel, who does it belong to jews or muslims? So all i am saying is no to go into the history of it, but what is affecting tibet now, and why it would be better independent.

You mention immigrants, but i do not see immigration as a real problem. I mean countries all over the world has immigrants and if you would prevent immigrants coming in due to their race, that is pretty racist.
And if you do want to go into the whole history debate i will go along with it, but tibet was a terrible country, with the vast majority of the people were slaves.

How would you know if Tibet was a terrible country? Are your sources Western historians who never actually went to Tibet before the invasion and instead went to China for information on Tibet? If Tibet was ruled by China, the Tibetan people and government were certainly not aware of it. You mention that 98% of the population of Tibet were slaves, what is your source for that statistic?

OK, there are very little none bias sources, as you should know. So I am just going off some of the sources i have read over the internet. Sorry but there were a few sources so i cant type them all in.
But just go on a search engine and look for stuff like serfdom in Tibet, illiteracy rates, infant mortality rate, life expectancy before and after the invasion.
Theres even some reports saying the dalai lama was working with the cia, but i am not going to get involved in that.

The Dalai Lama was working with the CIA to take back Tibet by creating Tibetan guerillas. They were trained by the CIA in the States. I know this because my uncle was one of the men who were trained. So what? You expect us to not put up a little resistance? Like I said before, the statistics that you mention are created by the Chinese government and given to the Western people. All of the stats who mentioned are better living in occupation and not being able to live freely in one's own country.

Tibetans would be better off as an independent country because they were MASSACRED by the Chinese Govt., over 1 million dead. And no, Tibet hasn't been a part of China for thousands of years though throughout history they've invaded Tibet. Tibet is distinct in it's language, script, religion and almost everything else. It's a tragedy how easily a govt. can brainwash their citizens through propaganda into commiting acts of murder.

That makes no sense. They are not being killed anymore, why would it make a difference now. They are benefitting from China's ecnomical boom. When they were independent 98% of the country were serfs. There have been massacres across the world, why not campaign for them? Why not free palestine? Why not give peru back to the incas and mexico to the Aztec?

Tibet has been part of China for thousands of years, and there is nothing like Chinese invaded Tibet. The truth is that, white Europeans invaded the whole north America,pacific islands and Africa. Why no one is protesting that? note how history is usually written (e.g. Alamo in the US).

Almost 3 years before Kham and Amdo were invaded and those people fought the real uprsing, china was almost welcomed in open arms in to lhasa.

A person named Lhasang tsering is noted in this video as a "khampa warrior" , 1) hes not khampa, 2) khampa guerillas were dismanteld in 1972(making him a high school student), 3) Hes living very rich in dharmasala right now feeding off all this bullshit.
Why didnt they show the real khampa warriors in dharamsala and show them how they are treated as dirt.

This is about justice for Tibet. Human rights of Tibetan. Not about China's self-interest, or your distain for Dalai lama to be consider as facter. Have you read Universsal Declaration of Human Rights or Atlantic Chater-founding treaties of the U.N? I doubt that your goverment will approve since China been braking every artical since 1951. China has no use for international law or rules. It is clearly in your comment.

If you read the UN Charter for human rights you will noticed that China has improved on poverty, education excess to health care, providing political stability etc.
Credit should be given where it is dued.

Please do get me wrong. I may be a bad buddhist. But I have great respect for the Dalai Lama. I do not believe everything he does. But noone is perfect. I just do not think it is right for any religious leader to be involve in politices or to run a country. Tibetans are part of the 5 great races of the Middle Kingdom. What is so wrong about being united together and be strong together ?

I do support Human rights and you are not the spokesman for all Tibetans. Thousands of serfs/slaves were indeed freed. You harp on human rights but ignore poverty, health care, education, political stability, rule of law and order which are also part of human rights. I do not agree with everything the CPC does but I do give credit where it is due. Do go and look at the United Nation Human Development reports. If you do, you will find out that China has improved on every one of the UNHD indices.

I'm against the occupation and cultural genocide (which is the worst of all), but guys, open your eyes, Independance of Tibet is de facto impossible. No major country can afford cutting all ties with the third economic power of the world. Sorry, I think all these are just useless. No one will listen to you (nor the politician, for obvious reasons, nor the common people, who are more concerned about their wallet than some Tibetans

I am from UK, not China, my government do not steal from Tibet, and if they do sorry I don't know. Also, as I said before, I do not agree with a lot of what the Chinese do, e.g.Fur Trade, deforestations, Animals for medicine. However I do not see how Tibet will improve without China.

Sorry for posting so many at a time.
I have just watched part 2 of this and I am disgusted in what was said, 'Free Tibet before Free Trade'. People are working countless hours for barely money in China to produce goods you use, however you are willing to let that carry on because of something they can not change. Were civilians in Pol Pot's Cambodia held responsible or Hitler's Germany? They weren't, and neither should the Chinese civilians.

Current president of China Hu Jintao was party secretary to Tibet. In 1989 he declared the brutal period of Marshall Law inside Tibet. The consistance of Jintao's extreme hard line is in place to this day. This is not a man who can be trusted in the least. Free Tibet. With your support Tibet will be free.

So why change, what could Tibet get once they're free from China? The old Buddhist leaders were barbaric people, so i see no reason why they would want to go back, or is it just a 'struggle' for land, which to me sounds a lot like greed.

I do not see why the Dalai Lama is seen as such a hero. He hasn't achieved anything, Gandhi and Martin Luther king adopted a non-violent approach and achieved something. The Dalai Lama just ran, if Churchill ran would he be seen as a hero or would the film '300' have been made if the Spartans ran? in my opinion he seems to be a coward and hasn't achieved anything, but people still think he is a hero.

Even Dalai Lama has lost all his hope on Tibet. He knew that China has already becaome a great country in the world. It only becomes stronger and stronger. That was why he has publically begged China to give him some government position. He should really know that China certainly won't take him back and put him in any government position. that is just his own wishful thinking.

Tibetan people love to be part of China. I have Tibetan classmates in college. They all take China as their motherland. The original Tibetan exiles escaped to India 48 years ago in 1959 are either died or too old to talk or walk. They already have lost all the hope. Their next generation have never been in China or Tibet since they were born. They know nothing about Tibet or China.

according to wind 94, all Chinese had been slaves of Mongolians or Maderians, and Tibetans almost slaved you if it were not because of Buddhism. Tibet took over the capital city of Chinese and forced Chinese king send his daughter to Tibet's King Songtsen as his third wives. The Chinese wife convinced the king to adopt Buddhism to show mercy and peace to the Chinese kingdom.

If Tibet was indeed an independent country. It would already be invaded by Britain and today be part of India. How can nomads with no excess to modern health care, schools be richer. If Tibet was richer, then Tibet will be even richer with money poured in to build schools, roads, houses, railroad infrastructures etc.

Btw I am not against a free Tibet, I just believe there is a lot worse going on in the world and there are disputes over land and independence everywhere and always will be, however war is much worse. So I believe it will come when China and Tibet are ready to do it peacefully, like when Britain granted Tibet's independence. However the occupation of Palestine should end, it is killing thousands and nothing is being done to make peace, US and UK just sell more weapons to the occupiers.

You just want to campaign against a communist country. Plus they are not worse off with china that without. Free Palestine and Iraq! There are many worse conflicts going on. I believe by making 'tibet' free could cause a lot more trouble, e.g. border confrontations. You claim that Tibet was once free, however America was once free from the Europeans, so why not free the Americas? I say concentrate on conflicts happening now and not an argument over land, after all attachment can cause suffering.
