it's supposed to be in protest to the endless cycle of xfactor christmas number 1's. To be honest all it does is split the number of opportunities to dislodge the xfactor single. If everyone got behind one protest song as happened last year then they might actually be successful but now people want money from it as well as to get the xfactor winner off number 1 at christmas.
