  • This would be a lot more useful for a rack synth with a minimum amount of knobs like the Waldorf Blofeld (or Pulse), Access Virus Snow, Dave Smith Evolver or one of those hideous membrane button-controlled synths like the Roland JX8P, MKS-80, Oberheim Matrix 1000, etc.

  • I don't get this, isn't it better to use the knobs on the synth itself?

  • where are some instructions or a help guide jesus

  • Multiple effect control and a different layout for the parameters, wouldnt mind it

  • Somebody needs to tell me how to really edit the sound of the little phatty with this app. It's barely changing the sound at all and the fx knobs rarely even work. A BIG WTF? Im moving my fingers around the touch "pads" and there is very very very little change in sound.

  • Nevermind, it's working now. Nice!

  • How do I do this? I can't get it to work.

  • Badass, but has anyone made a Dexter joke yet? Regardless, those were some "KILLER CHOPS"!!! ;] Ooooohhhhh, please stop me!

  • Well, it would be nice to have access to some of the physical controls that aren't readily accessible! Getting an LP soon, and I have every intention of adding this in!

  • thats awesome! But if i hook the little phatty with ableton up,do i need a extra audio interface to record the sounds into live?:) Would be awesome if someone can help! Thanks

  • Amazing video, but please be humans and share this TouchOSC template :D

  • Lennon used to say that one day we'll be playing "Grungeblobs". Well; that was some fantastic Grungeblob;-)

  • great music, but does anyone know where we can get the killer ipad stand that is used for the display? it's sweet.

  • @marcifer69 mStand from Rain design ,originaly for macbooks.

  • @marcifer69

It is actually a MacBook stand called the mStand by Rain Design.

  • Could you give us the touch osc patch plz !

  • a screenshot of this is available on synthtopia

  • umm yeah, you see those knobs on there? you can actually just use those instead of wasting time and money on a piece of shit Apple product.

  • Hey my moog is not working with midi!! which soft version u have???thx

  • Why not make the template available for download?

  • This is almost identical to what I've been messing with... ipod touch + various synths + hardware control.. nice guys!!

  • This is silly. I'd rather tweak my LP with the knobs built on the darn thing. Why would I want to go through all this nonsense to twiddle the knobs on my LP with an iPad? I love my iPad, and will be happy using it to control soft synths and my DAW, but not hardware synths with knobs and buttons.

Once again, this is just silly.

  • @keybdwizrd Well, I hear what you're saying. I've hooked a wii remote up to a really old analog synth before and I can say that it's silly. However, the neat thing about having a control surface like this -- much like artists use the Lemur -- is that you could "move" the knobs of many multiple synths playing at once over to one surface. If you were, say, infected mushroom and you had a room full of synths, this could be really handy. Yes? or am I being silly, too.

  • @keybdwizrd

The point is IMO controlling multiple parameters @ once... He used a lot of that x-y that you can see at the end.. It could controll let's say cutoff & resonance at the sam time... Try playing hardware sinth and twist two knobs at once -- you can't , you're missing a limb... now stfu If you dont know how to use the ipad to your advantage.. ya broke haterz :P

  • @keybdwizrd actually it's not that silly. Because of the control layout of the phatty, and single knobs assigned to multiple functions you simply can't do two things at once; e.g. the control knob for filters can only control cutoff OR resonance at one time, and not both.

Something like this allows you far more flexibility.

  • @lexsadler And the fact that you can make your own crazy templates is pretty sweet. Not sure if touchosc does this, but you could possibly have a step sequencer built into the template? Touchscreens are the way of the future. It's not about no knobs, it's about combining. The more control options you have, the better. But hey, people love hatin' :)

  • @lexsadler err in traktor you can map knobs to do multiple effects...

  • @lexsadler And he is the top commenter.....sad. Have you guys actually used your LP? I just set this up and believe me its a WAY better that the front panel of the LP

  • @keybdwizrd LOL UR DUMB

  • oh my

  • <drool>

  • Just MIDI control !

  • i would love to see his template up close

  • Damn you!!!!! Now I have to get an ipad!!

  • Wow...leave it to Moog to find a use for the most popular useless thing ever designed. And no, I'm not talking about the Mac or the Little Phatty.

  • Is there any way I can do the same with my Moog Voyager, since it bears no USB-connector?

  • Very Nice!...

  • Finally, someone uses the IPad to innovate and not consume. Right now Apple should be sucking your.. sorry, Apple should thank you for helping bring legitimacy to this joke of a device. Nice Moog!

  • That s crazy . i already made an application with my i pad for record.

I have a moog voyager. can i make the same with a moog voyager?

  • i really like

  • Very Nice!!!...

  • Interesting, but a bit of a technical dry hump.

  • wow this is the new way of making music in the future cool

  • Impressively slick styling and all...but why? What's wrong with the pots on the Little Phatty? Surely they give much more stability of control ???

  • @bodyinthethames maybe it was just to show the iPad's abilities? haha.. i don't know.

  • That's really awesome!
