@Tipichounet I can relate to that; seen my 'Battle Tower Hax' video? It's the one where I used the same team as the world record holder (a streak of 2364+) and died on my third battle using that team. It shows how luck-based this evil challenge is, so I don't bother with the game any more.
EVERYONE LETS FACE IT THE PROGRAMMERS THAT ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CREATING BATTLE TOWER/SUBWAY INTENTIONALLY PUT HAX TO MAKE SURE WE ALWAYS LOSE PREVENTING US TO REACH HIGHER THEY DIDNT HAVE TO PUT MUCH STRATEGY ON THE BATTLE TOWER/SUBWAY JUST A BIT HAX OF 100% OHK OR CRIT AND THATS THAT FUCKING CHEATER!!!!
@YodatheJedi12 Well, persistence is key... while I did get 313 the first time with this team, getting 646 with my far superior team took a few attempts.
I made a hack team in Diamond to counter the bullshit hax of the Battle Tower. A No Guard Ninjask with Sheer Cold, Stone Edge, Sacred Fire, and DynamicPunch holding Scope Lens. The other moves are to counter the Sturdy Pokemon for at least 2x damage.
Then I came across a Latias with Focus Sash.
A Latias.
With Focus Sash.
The hell? Latias is a tank. Focus Sash Latias isn't close to practical unless specifically to counter that hack.
@v1lle3 The only way to get high streaks (i.e. multiple hundreds, such as my 646 or Jumpman's 2366+) is to minimise the AI's potential to exploit hax. Trick teams are specialised for that purpose.
@v1lle3 That's an interesting team there... yeah, you'd have a tough time getting IVs like mine even if you do master RNG abuse (I did a lot of flips...).
@virgil509 What's With The Capitals!? Anyway, 100 streaks are incredibly easy to achieve with a solid Trick team. Getting higher streaks (i.e. 1000) is much harder... 646 is my record.
tss this is why i stopped trying to win at the tower.never made it past 70,it just sucks too bad to build a team and the comp always finds a way to break it whether it's by luck or not.i mean i'm sure even a pokemon with the Sturdy ability and a good setup could lose if the AI decides it wants its way.
@SirenoftheVoid Yes, they would use critical hits and BrightPowder hax to defeat a Sturdy Pokemon. There's no guaranteed way to avoid hax in the Tower.
can you imagine how frustrating pokemon games would be if ALL trainers (including NPCs not in battle frontier and gym leaders and elite four) have hax and perfect IVs, EVs, natures, and moves that can only be obtained through move tutor and breeding. (luckily non frontier trainers don't EV train or don't care about IVs but frontier trainers do) . if the first trainers you battle all get critical hits like that, your tackle always misses, it will be very frustrating.
@AquaKyogre Oh, you mean the Quick Claw thing in reference to my latest video? Well, that happened alongside critical hit hax among other things, so it was much less likely. By itself, four QC activations has a 1 in 625 chance of happening, i.e. much more likely than three crits like in this video.
@lildrummerfreak Nah, I got a streak of 646 with a Cresselia lead, and I don't like non-Psychic leads since they don't attract the right attacks that my other team members need.
Ya I hate hax. They're the only reason I lose my streaks in the battle tower. I was only on battle 68 when the hax just came out like crazy. A fucking Zapdos crit me with thunderbolt 5 times in a row! That is just bullshit.
I don't know why, but I just cracked up at 4:12-4:19. That "beeping" noise when the registeel was low on health synched with the music perfectly, haha.xD
@wespolly Lol, you must be easily amused... I'm like that too, for example I laugh if it's all quiet and then there's a high-pitched rubbing noise on a desk.
@DrDimentio Heh, that's exactly how I'm like.xD Btw, quick "?"; Is it possible to have a fast pokemon use worry seed on slaking to change it's ability from truant to insomnia in double battles? I was thinking of testing it out myself, but my Wi-Fi decided to crap out on me a lot lately.9__9
a very big slice of luck is what i need to reach even the 100th streak... but it's really nice to see people reaching more than the required quota of having a star in the trainer card.. quite inspiring
Inspiring? That's quite nice to know. If you want a really inspiring record, watch JumpXVI's battle 2364 record video (search 'battle tower 2364'). Mine is quite pathetic in comparison!
Indeed, the Tower/Frontier has to rely on hax such as crits, QC, OHKOs, and more, to prevent infinite streaks from players such as Peterko from Smogon. Thanks for the congrats.
Well then, technically it didn't happen to you - the AI only got 2 crits which is quite 'common' in the Tower. Also, are you sure you weren't against a high-CH move/Scope Lens holder?
I tricked my Choice Scarf from Uxie to Gallade and that locked Gallade into X-scissor. He got a Ch witch broke my Substitute. Then on the next turn the same thing happend and then I went for a Bullet Punch after he got the 2nd CH.
It is crazy, and that guy has been at it for over 2 months, constantly playing. Well, it'll require a lot of luck to get anywhere near that record. Thanks for the encouragement.
Unbeatable? I wish! I'm only 4th on Smogon University's Tower records list. The top record is over 2000 and still going, belonging to Peterko. I copied his team except for me using Uxie. The second place is over 1000 undefeated and is Jumpman16's record. Soon I might try and challenge those scores.
Sorry Dude! But awesome music form Zelda twillight princess! Yup the sages at the desert are talkin to Link and Midna, switches to fake Zant fighting music.good job on the high streak though!
It's okay, I didn't mind the loss TOO much. Yeah, Zelda:TP is my favourite game so I had to include the awesome music. Oh, and the fake Zant music is actually more attributed to the mini boss of the Arbiter's Grounds, and is 'reused' for that Zant battles. Anyway, thanks for the compliment.
... do? Boosts your Speed by 50%, but locks you into one move until you switch out. CPU trainers don't switch out despite being TrickScarfed, so you can weaken them and setup on a not-very-effective move.
Yeah, it was totally hilarious, losing to 3 crits in a row, thus wasting over a week's worth of playing to get that far. Thanks for the music compliment...
Oh my Arceus! It must suck to lose like that. I've never liked Machamps, I have one but it's in a box somewhere. The last time I trusted a Machamp was while trying to do the Mew glitch in Pokemon fire red. Doesn't work.
Yep, it hurt. Thanks for the congrats. I know, the chance of facing an Infernape, let alone one with a Speed-boosting Nature, after 3 critical hits, is even more microscopic than the 1 in 4096 for the crits alone!
The first is Tale of the Sages (I don't know if there's an official title) from Zelda: Twilight Princess, my number 1 favourite game. From the battle's start, the song is Great Phantom Battle (another unofficial title) from the same game. The high-pitched tension music is from Warcraft 3, and the file is just called Tension.mp3. At the end was the song Twilight (unofficial title again) from Zelda: Twilight Princess again. However, the music is even more appropriate in some of my other videos.
I know, Machamp is a cheater - even when he's not relying on Quick Claws or critical hits, his cheating antics are evidenced by his obviously steroid-enhanced muscles.
You're not dumb, don't say that! Well, the chance of a critical hit is 1 in 16. The chance any 2 consecutive attacks being critical hits is 1 in (16x16), while for 3 hits in a row it's 1 in (16x16x16), which can be written as 1 in 16^3. That is equal to 1 in 4096. Thanks for the sympathy.
you shouldn't have an even numbered Hp on a sub chomp. Although 4 crits is possible, it is obviously much less likely. Also this is why charm>anything else (anything else being reflect/memento/growl(lol)).
I know, I got told by Peterko, and actually I was aware from a long time ago, though I plan on using something other than Garchomp next time, so this was somewhat of a test. And yeah, I can see why Latias has major advantages such as lowering to -6 attack, Recover, not having to sacrifice, drawing in Ice and Dragon attacks for Registeel, etc.
Thanks, it was tough to get that far with a mediocre Uxie and a slightly imperfect Garchomp.
I know, that's so true... the game had its unfair revenge though.
Thanks for the congrats...
As for a world record, the only TRUSTWORTHY record I know of belongs to Peterko at Smogon, he's gone past 1400 and still hasn't lost... I'll tell you when he has a final record. There may be some higher record on a Japanese site, possibly.
great video buddy, although yeah it TOTALLY sucks to be done in like that :( you totally deserved to go way further, and i'm sure you will next time. such a pity that your CH iron head didnt take out the infernape - that would have been just SOOOO fitting, and you probably would have beaten shuckle easily one-on-one.
when calculating the luck, domnt forget that not only did he get 3 crits in a row, but he also sent out something of a nemesis of the registeel/garchomp paring in infernape.....
Thanks, man! I know, but in some ways there's less to be ashamed of by losing to hax, since you can say your opponent only won by pretty much cheating against you. Yeah, it was quite ironic that I got a crit on Infernape, and what sucks is that if he'd killed Chomp with CC rather than EQ, he'd be at -3 Defense and then the crit would have killed him! Would have been awesome. Yeah, Shuckle couldn't have touched Steel.
Indeed, I mentioned that at Smogon... hardly any Pokes of his were faster...
absolutely - you lost because it *decided* you would. also, i wish i knew your garhomp's stats because of the importance of being able to make 4 subs :(
your comment above is extremely insightful - "guarantees critical hits when losing" lol. you had absolutely no business to be losing that match - it was a clear victory 4095 times out of 4096.
now that i think of it, two infernapes have neutral speed - so you were even unlucky in that respect.
Thanks for the compliment. It does such, very much. I agree, since I went from 196 to 313... so probably a lot better next time. Thanks for the rating, too!
Yeah I know. I was IV breeding for a Adamant Technician Scyther and got a Hardy Swarm with these IV's - HP 31 Attack 30 Defense 30 Special Attack 30 Special Defense 24 Speed 31. I think it will be good for passing IV's on through breeding.
Very true indeed... crit whores run rampant in the Frontier. I did deserve to win - with my Substitute up I'd have killed Infernape and laughed at Shuckle after.
Well... that's depressing. 3 critical hits IN A ROW! I guess hax came back to haunt you... Oh, and congrats an the lottery thing. To think, you lose a big battle, and then you almost win the lottery!
Yeah, and half the chance of finding a shiny with those odds. Lol thanks, I saw that and decided to film it since it's pretty rare... a Max Revive as 'first prize' is sad, though.
Use drapion instead, battle armor to prevent critical hax..

DrDimentio 2 years ago
Sorry for my dumbness, but why were the odds of this happening 1/4096? Btw, that was very unlucky xD I feel sorry for ya ):
RemysVehicle 2 years ago
You're not dumb, don't say that! Well, the chance of a critical hit is 1 in 16. The chance any 2 consecutive attacks being critical hits is 1 in (16x16), while for 3 hits in a row it's 1 in (16x16x16), which can be written as 1 in 16^3. That is equal to 1 in 4096. Thanks for the sympathy.

you shouldn't have an even numbered Hp on a sub chomp. Although 4 crits is possible, it is obviously much less likely. Also this is why charm>anything else (anything else being reflect/memento/growl(lol)).
nice record though
AiklapW 2 years ago
I know, I got told by Peterko, and actually I was aware from a long time ago, though I plan on using something other than Garchomp next time, so this was somewhat of a test. And yeah, I can see why Latias has major advantages such as lowering to -6 attack, Recover, not having to sacrifice, drawing in Ice and Dragon attacks for Registeel, etc.
Thanks, it was tough to get that far with a mediocre Uxie and a slightly imperfect Garchomp.
DrDimentio 2 years ago
You should have won that battle :/
Congrats on the great record!! =D
Do you know what is world record? :D
shinygamer9 2 years ago 2
I know, that's so true... the game had its unfair revenge though.
Thanks for the congrats...
As for a world record, the only TRUSTWORTHY record I know of belongs to Peterko at Smogon, he's gone past 1400 and still hasn't lost... I'll tell you when he has a final record. There may be some higher record on a Japanese site, possibly.
DrDimentio 2 years ago
Yeah..
Thanks!! :D I went to smogon look his team. Are you going to break your newest record?
shinygamer9 2 years ago
great video buddy, although yeah it TOTALLY sucks to be done in like that :( you totally deserved to go way further, and i'm sure you will next time. such a pity that your CH iron head didnt take out the infernape - that would have been just SOOOO fitting, and you probably would have beaten shuckle easily one-on-one.
when calculating the luck, domnt forget that not only did he get 3 crits in a row, but he also sent out something of a nemesis of the registeel/garchomp paring in infernape.....
BozoTheBear 2 years ago 2
Thanks, man! I know, but in some ways there's less to be ashamed of by losing to hax, since you can say your opponent only won by pretty much cheating against you. Yeah, it was quite ironic that I got a crit on Infernape, and what sucks is that if he'd killed Chomp with CC rather than EQ, he'd be at -3 Defense and then the crit would have killed him! Would have been awesome. Yeah, Shuckle couldn't have touched Steel.
Indeed, I mentioned that at Smogon... hardly any Pokes of his were faster...
DrDimentio 2 years ago
absolutely - you lost because it *decided* you would. also, i wish i knew your garhomp's stats because of the importance of being able to make 4 subs :(
your comment above is extremely insightful - "guarantees critical hits when losing" lol. you had absolutely no business to be losing that match - it was a clear victory 4095 times out of 4096.
now that i think of it, two infernapes have neutral speed - so you were even unlucky in that respect.
BozoTheBear 2 years ago
Awesome record. It sucks that he got 3 crits in a row. I think that you will get further next time. Good luck. 5/5
karlmee1234 2 years ago 2
Thanks for the compliment. It does such, very much. I agree, since I went from 196 to 313... so probably a lot better next time. Thanks for the rating, too!
DrDimentio 2 years ago
That's okay. I'm trying to get a decent record in the Hax Tower but I need to RNG for some better Pokemon.
karlmee1234 2 years ago
Okay, sounds like a wise idea... IVs are so important in the Hax Tower.
DrDimentio 2 years ago
Yeah I know. I was IV breeding for a Adamant Technician Scyther and got a Hardy Swarm with these IV's - HP 31 Attack 30 Defense 30 Special Attack 30 Special Defense 24 Speed 31. I think it will be good for passing IV's on through breeding.
karlmee1234 2 years ago
That's a very good one for passing IVs, yes.
DrDimentio 2 years ago
3 critical hits in a roll huh... well that's retarted... felt bad for your loss but hey, 314 streak isn't so bad.
I am expecting 1000+++ streak from your try! Good luck!!
TripleJump333 2 years ago
Indeed, in 4096 chance is retarded. I bet that's never happened to you! Technically the streak is 313, but yeah it's not bad.
Um okay... only one person has managed that so far.
DrDimentio 2 years ago
Well who knows, expect the unexpected. Maybe you gain their "hax" ability and critical them continuously when you're about to lose.
TripleJump333 2 years ago
Yeah, I think Hax should be a Pokemon ability. Description: "Guarantees critical hits when losing."
DrDimentio 2 years ago
Awesome record.

Thanks, mate.
DrDimentio 2 years ago
That little Crit Whore is a hacking faggot. You deserved to win.
MenceMaster 2 years ago 2
Very true indeed... crit whores run rampant in the Frontier. I did deserve to win - with my Substitute up I'd have killed Infernape and laughed at Shuckle after.
DrDimentio 2 years ago
Well... that's depressing. 3 critical hits IN A ROW! I guess hax came back to haunt you... Oh, and congrats an the lottery thing. To think, you lose a big battle, and then you almost win the lottery!
pokechao196 2 years ago
Yeah, and half the chance of finding a shiny with those odds. Lol thanks, I saw that and decided to film it since it's pretty rare... a Max Revive as 'first prize' is sad, though.
DrDimentio 2 years ago
True. A Master Ball isn't even worth first prize, due to Emerald. A shiny Giratina would be nice.
pokechao196 2 years ago
Lol yes, but a shiny Giratina is another thing I have enough of.
DrDimentio 2 years ago
That...
is what I call...
srs hax.
:(
SamRulesProductions 2 years ago
I know, 3 crits in a row is terrible. Thanks for acknowledging that!
DrDimentio 2 years ago
No problem...
it seems you always have bad luck.
And holy wow, that Registeel owns in IVs! How'd you manage that?
SamRulesProductions 2 years ago
Nah, not always... I was quite lucky until that battle.
The flawless IVs are because I used RNG abuse to get that Registeel.
DrDimentio 2 years ago
I'm not patient enough to use RNG Abuse. Double-tapping the screen over 9,000 (rofl) times isn't my forte. ^_^'
SamRulesProductions 2 years ago
It only took me 320 taps to get that Registeel, actually.
DrDimentio 2 years ago
Seriously? Wow, I should try that, now... flawless IV Tentacruel, here I come!
