So far as I know snakes are pretty tough. They also shed their skin, so I suppose they can repair any damage.

They said it was 984 lb and 49 ft long. According to Guinness World Records 2005, the world's longest snake was a reticulated python, which was 32 ft. 9.5 in. It was killed in Celebes, Indonesia, in 1912.

@Ivv1994 A crew went and measured the Retic, it was a little over 20 foot and around 200 LBS.... VERYYY large but fluffy still has the Title.

It isn't the world's largest....it may be the longest, but that's not what we go by for "largest" criteria.

I think its interesting that a zoo is displaying a tiger retic instead of the normal. They are definitely my favorite morph. Its hard to believe that the world record is 6 ft longer than her.

The zoo has several other pythons. Some are shown in the video: Worlds Largest Snakes Cobra Rattlesnake Python Boa Dangerous Longest Strongest Most Poisonous. The world record (now dead) was 8 feet longer than her.

That is bullshit, you dont need 700 people to handle a retic. ESPECIALLY FLUFFY, Fluffy came from the infamous bob clark and she is one of the first tigers.

she is very easily handled and she could easily be manouvered by 2 people

They don't wad her up and toss her in a cart like construction tubing, they respect her as the sensitive, intelligent being that she is. Each person has about 50 lbs. & 4 feet and more people would probably be needed if she constricted around someone.

yes but that is not needed. nor would she even know how to constrict as she has eaten F/T for years. one person can Easily handle a 100-200lb snake(maybe a strong person not someone small)

But definatly an ego thing for 20 people to be trying to keep hands on it all times.

Which she is in neither shes been an animal exibitor for years and does not need 40 hands on her to stress the shit out of her. thats what will make her bite.

This was a large operation involving several departments. Asian & African elephants and rhinos were moved. People included employees, docents, observers, volunteers, etc. Only a few (not 700) actually handled Fluffy. More are needed in case of emergency. The zoo wants people to be safe.

yes and that snake along with the household kitten are the safest animals in that area. Fluffy is not anywhere near dangerous. i would not trust her over the age of 25 but she isnt that old.

Its riduculous how much comotion they have to make towards a gentle giant like fluffy. Egotistical.

Fluffy is a gentle giant. However, I have seen Fluffy strike and constrict and she is impressive. The zoo needs a safety margin in case there is a problem. It would be negligent not to.

Constrictors constrict. It's a totally natural and instinctive behavior. Five of my snakes are constrictors born and bred in captivity and fed f/t food from the time they were hatchlings and they all constrict. Sometimes they do it without even seeming to be aware of it. It's just what they do.
