That didnt look like it it actually used the rake to reach the seed, it kinda just grabbed at whatever was infront and by accident pulled in the seed.
i luv this....my degus r really smart too. One of them disguised himself as the other by looking at me in the same way the other one does (trust me, they both have distinctly different stares), but then he bit me the way he always does. I knew they had lots of potential! ;)
My pet hamster used to stick its paw out of the cage as if to suggest the offering of a seed from the packet of food. I'd hand it one and it would take it back and eat it and "ask" again and again like it was a game. This experiment can't be that hard to perform on rodents, they're very smart creatures. I'd be impressed if they managed it with snails or something but not a rat.

well i can see how this works there was an expirments with lever and what not done on rats in wich to obtain food they must use a series of levers..
