@ThePussyKicker If you follow the orginial timeline, Judgement Day happened on August something 1997. This movie is set in 2018 so some of the effects from the nuclear holocaust/ winter may have dissipated. Also the machines constantly being sent back through time messed up some of Skynets progress. In T3 the t-800 said Sarah and Johns actions in T2 delayed judgement day so Skynets technical progress is off.
The movie sequels ruined all the good movies. Its the same with each move. In T1 and T2, the Terminator as a character, was a terrifying, mysterious and a no talk/no compromise killing machine. Same goes for the Alien series, in the first movie we all pissed our pants watching it at evening with lights off. Then they made a women vs alien army sort of movie and none of them were scary anymore. Same here, man vs Terminator army, none of them is scary. + they added tons of useless shit.
@gokusnumber1 It does take a little while, you gotta get a mixture of sounds like wood being chopped and metal being bent, and compress it and put reverse the noise, play around with it, i have it in one of my tracks which is not not finished yet. Hope that helps

One things that's a bit silly here is the t600 is shown to have quite advanced colour vision... Can't remember if the t700 at the end did as well but its a bit stupid when all the t800s in the previous films only had that 'red' vision.
@sqa4406 ive always been one to question a terminator's tactics in.. terminating. for example in the scene where connor solely fights a t600 and eventually kills it with a huey mounted m60, the terminator could have easily snapped connor's neck or punched a hole through him, but rather it just threw him aside.
@iamidiotic Being a programmer I hardly can classify terminator as a science fiction 8) It's enough to play in chess with modern computer program to see how precise and sharp it is in the tactical sense. It just gives you no chance, even grandmasters barely beat them.
So people may be better in strategy, but computers are by far better tacticians.

I have to admit there are a lot of movies nowadays that are useless in regards to a storyline as a whole, but the movie itself is still decently good, concerning as far as the action, acting and particular story being told. Terminator Salvation is one of those movies. I reckon they shouldn't make these pre/sequels and just leave it up to the audience to imagine how it went.

@lonesoldier33 exactly, it was explained in T2, nukes launched against Russia thus Russian counter attack. so after the nuke launch its a war east vs west for years until their is nothing left, no one knows about the machines until everything is virtually destroyed. After the fallout the machines show them selfs and start killing, no one knows who or what they are. Like Kyle says in T1, John rally's people to storm the camp fences and teaches broken civilians how to fight.
Actually, the T800 states in T2 the reason why Skynet launches nuclear missiles on Russian targets via stealth bombers fitted with Cyberdyne technology on August 19th, 1887 is to make sure that there can be no counter attack on Skynet facilities within the USA, since back in the 90s, Russia still had the largest reserve of nuclear warheads.

@ShadesOfFall Imagine a highly damaged robot much like that exact one you see here that has been around, say... since... 2013? maybe 2014? And has probly seen over a thousand small arms rounds fired into it, survived a few hand grenades and is probly running low on hydraulic fluids and it's entire body is rickety.
Considering the 900 RPM cyclic rate of that Minigun on a 7-foot frame of that '600, it does make perfect sense. You try firing a 7.62 caliber rotating barrel weapon and hit something.
I would imagine trying to hit a rope tied to your foot with a full rotating barrel minigun without hitting your foot would be pretty hard. He may be a terminator but he can't bend bullets
the chain gun makes it even easier because of the steady stream of bullets and when it comes to a terminator, recoil? what recoil so yes it should have been shown to cut the rope instead of the foot.
but hey we can all get over it

4. At 0:20, oh no here come the Home Alone traps! Traps like this only work in the movies and are not believable. An order for this trap to work, the terminator has to stand in a very special spot. What is the probability that the terminator will be in this spot and that the kid will be at his spot to pull the lever?
5. At 0:31, “Come with me if you want to live.” What a cheesy line.
6. At 0:59, the hand signals make me want to laugh…. lame.
7. At 1:06, another Home Alone trap. I want everyone to know that these traps have such a rare change of happening. It is ridiculously unlikely that these traps would be a success. Think about it, have you ever tried to hit a moving target on the ground with an object suspended several stories in the air. The timing and location of both terminator and rail car would have to be perfect for this to happen. What a pathetic movie.

I knew from the start if Cameron does not make T3 or any other sequel it would be undoubtely a shit film and they are. I have to admit there are a lot of movies nowadays that are useless in regards to a storyline as a whole, but the movie itself is still decently good, concerning as far as the action, acting and particular story being told. Terminator Salvation is one of those movies. I reckon they shouldn't make these pre/sequels and just leave it up to the audience to imagine how it went.

As for the storyline, that's the trick, we all expected it to be like James Camrons future war scenes from T1 and T2, it was giddy, dark, it showed the real desperation for human kind. Humans barley holding on by a thread with no hope, John was supposed to give that hope

@lonesoldier33 exactly, it was explained in T2, nukes launched against Russia thus Russian counter attack. so after the nuke launch its a war east vs west for years until their is nothing left, no one knows about the machines until everything is virtually destroyed. After the fallout the machines show them selfs and start killing, no one knows who or what they are. Like Kyle says in T1, John rally's people to storm the camp fences and teaches broken civilians how to fight.

Why was the T-600 even in the movie? It's foolish to think Skynet would create such a machine.

And has probly seen over a thousand small arms rounds fired into it, survived a few hand grenades and is probly running low on hydraulic fluids and it's entire body is rickety.
Considering the 900 RPM cyclic rate of that Minigun on a 7-foot frame of that '600, it does make perfect sense. You try firing a 7.62 caliber rotating barrel weapon and hit something.

7. At 1:06, another Home Alone trap. I want everyone to know that these traps have such a rare change of happening. It is ridiculously unlikely that these traps would be a success. Think about it, have you ever tried to hit a moving target on the ground with an object suspended several stories in the air. The timing and location of both terminator and rail car would have to be perfect for this to happen. What a pathetic movie.
