That sort of movement is typical of zoo animals in a small enclosure (or patients in mental hospital), it's obsessive rocking, or short pacing back and forth, to overcome the boredom of being stuck in one place. Bus drivers must get very tired day after day of being in traffic jams. Also.. if you are sedentary, its possible to do mild exercise, flexing the backbone, and I sometimes do this on my motorcycle when stuck at traffic lights.
