its the most easy area in the game in this video . Other areas are more "heavy"
I have 8800GTS 512mb with 2.4Ghz 4gb ram 4-4-4-12 and at the heavy duty spots of the game my FPS drop to 12 FPS minimum 16-18FPS normal and 40-60FPS in the "easy" areas like the video.
Allthough its one of the best cards EVER according to PRICE - POWER section. 2011 And i still have this card and i play almost ALL new game in Very High-Ultra settings. Nvidia 8800GTS 512mb 4THEWIN!
Im with you he played around were there wasnt alot moving around, turn around and blow some stuff up shoot some people then we will see what types of frames you get.
my laptop has an 8800gts, i run multiplayer on veryhigh without much of a problem, i have a higher chance of lagging because of poor wifi. does slowdown a bit in heavy battles, but then again its probably the high ping. a thing to keep in mind, the human eye sees at 30fps(if my professor is right), so worrying about keeping above a set mark like 40 or 50fps is pointless.
That's not true. The human eye can see at more than 300 fps, but at 60 fps it seems smooth, if there's motion blur, then about 30 fps is enough. Or like in cinemas 24 fps. 24 fps in cinemas seems smooth because of motion blur.
hey, why dont you turn around and show us your real fps. Looking at water raises it 15+ if not more. i highly doubt you have over thirty looking at a jungle
hey i'm thinking about going 8800gts g92 SLI, i know you've already mentioned your average benchmarks, but im assuming thats through an assumption, i wanna see how well you run it very high 1680 x 1200 or 1600 x 1200 (either or) using the crysis benchmarking tool! thanks man. id really like to know since i'm gonna own 2 8800gts soon
cool vid I have 8800gts 512 mb each in sli but I don't get near the performance as you, do you have aa on or off and I read this on the web but is it true that intel is better for nvidia sli than amd just wondering if you know because I will be upgrading my processor and cpu soon
nice...i love this game. but its a bit hard. one of the major things i need to do to improve my performence on this game is oc my processor...but ive been haveing heat probs :(
This is awsome, I have an overclocked Q6600, overclocked 8800 gts 512, 4 Gbs of DDR2800 ram, and a 1920x1200 display, and am soon getting another 8800 GTS.
nice setup. if you have a g0 q6600, i would recommend getting it up to 3.6ghz (if its not already). It will increase sli performance (these cards scale better with higher cpu clocks because of the cpu bottleneck)
I still think the 8800gts is great bang for your buck. Even with todays 9800gtx price cuts, the 8800gts 512 is still a better deal imo because you can overclock it to match 9800gtx performance and it requires less power cables (using less power and being compatible with more power supplies while performing the same)
I agree, overclocking can be risky business if you screw with voltage and use stock cooling.
These cards, although performing well, are being bottlenecked by the cpu. If the cpu was overclocked to 4ghz, crysis performance would improve significantly.
I would recommend the e8400 if you want to experiment with overclocking. It runs at a stock 3ghz (and has been pushed up to 5ghz!) so you will have tons of OC headroom (the 45nm fabrication helps a lot because of cooler temps and less power usage)
If you buy a quad core, i would definitely recommend 8gb of ram (if your running x64). If you seriously multitask enough to use 4 cores, your going to need the extra ram!
I would personally hold off on building a pc in september/october/november because its rumoured that the intel nehalem architecture will come out then, making lga775 pc's obsolete. This either means that you will be able to pick up fast next-gen stuff for a reasonable price or that the lga775 cpu/mobos will have their prices lowered
if you get 33 fps with 2 gpus how much do you get with 1?

Lol. Perhaps medium-high on medium resolution. Your CPU is the major draw back. Hope this helps.

I would recomend getting two 9800gtx+'s as they are only £115 in Britain. They are basically upgraded 8800gts 512's

They are upgraded 8800 Ultra's :D

is it worth it to get 2 8800gts for sli mode
fourzero40 3 years ago 3
yes.
but if you can buy 2 9800GTX+ is even better, the prices are very low nowadays...
or buy a used 9800GX2 and a good power supply, and kick the crap out of those nip corean soldiers!
LOL
cheers

In september or october I´m going to buy a new computer with 2x 8800gts and 8gb ram too.
Now I know how good it will run, thanx :D
v1lle3 3 years ago
Allthough you also need a good CPU and some intense overclock to feed these cards.
May i suggest the E8400 and buy some aftermarket cooling and overclock to 3.6 - 4.0
ItsjustagameNUB 3 years ago
No, I will buy Quad-Core :D
v1lle3 3 years ago
I hope you intend to do you overclocking then, i myself have a q6600 running at 3.6ghz, and i love it.
ItsjustagameNUB 3 years ago
I´m planning to buy a q6600 to, but I´m no pro in computers so I will probably not overclock it.
I have a guide that shows how to do but I don´t trust myself :P
v1lle3 3 years ago
I wouldnt recommend overclocking either if you dont have any experience with it.
I think you should look for a newer quad, for example Q9300 or Q9450/Q9400.
ItsjustagameNUB 3 years ago
I thought those were not as good as the earlier ones :S
v1lle3 3 years ago
The Q9450/Q9400 is better, due to the higher clock on the fsb and 12mb L2 cache.
ItsjustagameNUB 3 years ago
yes, I saw it on a site just before, maybe I´ll buy a q9450 instead if I get enough money
v1lle3 3 years ago
Okay.
Just remember if you choose the Q9450/9400 youll need a motherboard that supports the new 45nm quad processors.
ItsjustagameNUB 3 years ago
Yep, I´ll do it
v1lle3 3 years ago

8GB RAM? How much RAM can Vista 64bit recognize?
Greippi285 3 years ago
Im pretty sure it can use 128 or more gigabytes of memory.
With 64-bit, you can get a heck of a lot more RAM than the 3 gig cap on xp. (if you need it)
sunkinator 3 years ago
they make x64 XP also.
