It seems to me that the video refers to the beautiful video game from 1998 "The Last Express". There were also a family of Russians and a puzzle "box" with an animal (the Firebird, and here it was the Unicorn). And an older Russian was also killed by a marginal person. Besides you can hear sounds of a train after the killer runs out of the house — quite unusual for a Moscow street.

In case anyone was curious, this video was made for the promotion of the Phillips Cinema TV. There were 5 videos made, all of which had to use the exact same script. I think you could find the other ones if you google Parallel Lines. Its pretty cool to see how different each video is. This is definitely my favorite of them all, though.

I want to know what was said. There is very little dialogue, probably just an ambiguous exchange of words that provide no answers, but it might help me understand why the man was stabbed and why the robot took the box and ran.

I definitely got a Half Life 2 vibe from the police.

Excellent short film! It would be cool if the film makers used it to get funding for a feature film in the same setting; a science-fiction dystopian Moscow. Possibly expanding on the story surrounding the box.

In logic terms some issues are silly. why the humanoid robot needs to run after the bus hit the criminal... it was not its fault a simple explanation will be enough; second mistake: motorcycle using fluid toxic energy... instead of electricity. Old cars in the city with a humanoid robot in the house?? If you froze the video and watch the foot of the robot its funny: chicken dinosaurs shape with some plastic there... No artificial intelligent systems to prevent crime or potential threat?? lol

@luisbeck007 this cars were invented nearly 40 years ago, but still (2010!) in production, it's really possible that then could be used for another 50 years :) This movie looks like a nice fairy-tale, nothing more.
