/THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!! This was my favorite version of the story, and I know everyone is going to root for Ava Gardner and company, but really, this version was truer to the book and they did a great job with it. Sadly, it's never been available on either video or DVD to my knowledge.

@ewolet Truer to the book? Half the stuff in the final sequences is just MADE UP.
The Count giving a pep talk to Robert? Jake copping an attitude about Brett and Romero to Robert? Bill's disappearance? Brett's entire personality?
This is really a travesty and a butchering of Hemingway's work.
