Ive been thinking.... I have this game and im pretty awesome at it, but i havent done this level yet. But close observations of the DEATH WATER RAFTING RIVER OF DOOM gave me an idea. Instead of killing yourself if you dont get all the red coins, why dont you just carefully walk across the edge of the river? You remember the Secret of the Dirty Lake mission, right? The same lilypad was there, and it reappears. If you miss a coin, you can walk across the edge, go back to the start, and get on?Ctn.

you know theres a glitch to get to this island without taking the boats right? you need yoshi you need to know the glitch of getting under delfino plaza (the blue area that kills you if you dont jump) and from there you need to be on yoshi go under the island and triple jump to it and there you go (its really hard to explain if i was able to make a video of it i would)

I got to the island all right, but for the actual level, I sorta cheated. Hover pack for FLUDD, grabbed only one or two red coins per surf on that damn poison river. Once I reached the end ( or bailed via hover) I would slooowly walk back across the edges of the level, then take another leaf (which mercifully respawns).

Fuck that shine. Never got it again.

there are two cheating ways to get to the island. theres a way to reset yoshi's flutter and fly there, and you can jump through a building and fall under the water. i made it to the island once the real way and then was just so annoyed i've glitched my way there ever since
