my feeling on this is that Brad wasn't where he wanted to be on the song. And instead of faking it, he used space, light phrasing and tried to find his way into the song. Brad is one of my favorite pianists. Incredible. And even more incredible (and "pure" if you can use that word) in that solo for the searching quality. After an incredible Methany solo, most people would want to play fast, play patterns,, try to catch up to that level of execution. But Brad wants to play. That is awesome
