There is research from cambridge by an Azeri on the genetic make up of Azeris including Armenians and Iranains and found them all to be the same race and group. AND only 400 years ago was Turkic adopted in that region mainly due to Qajar's... my great grandfather was an Azeri/Iranian and served in the Ottoman empire which hired other ethnic groups!

There is no denying the Arabisation of words, unlike you Iranians do not deny influence or words from other places. However again any book, any material you read, Turks are Mongoloids and from Mongolia and not Caucasians or European in feature. Iranians are classified as Europeans and their Language European. Arabic sources call the city Baku, Bakukh, Bakuya etc other theories state the name goes back to Older Persian where Bag means God, the origin of the name is suggested as being Bad-kube (city where the wind blows) or Baghkuh (Mountain of God).
