If I would've known that sliding saves at U11-U12 were rare, I would've uploaded about 20 of my saves. And they wonder why young goalkeepers are always criticized....
I was talking about the save at the 1:15 mark. Not the save where the girl came out and made a sliding save and then went back to the goal and save the next shot. That was a good save.
Those are great saves. Not sure why Madison's save is up here when she should have knocked the ball over the post. The save was not needed and was bad technique to start.
The U11 girl should be it. Most of the saves are pretty common. The U11 girl (Sami) slid in, stopped penetration, got up and back to her line to make a second save. The U13 girl (Madison) was awesome, but second just by age/skill level.
@LTR2019 .. it was a great save by Madison, but she should have knocked the ball over the post. Instead she kept it in play and then had to clean up her mess.
@CTorres99 .. I can agree that she had to reset and she could of probably stopped the ball the first time (her slide). But the sheer size of her compared to those girls gives me the idea that she might be playing up. She also slid, something that in my area is unheard of for that age. I'd be surprised if she could knock any ball over any post due to just her height. She is playing extremely well for her age, which made her stand out to me.
@LTR2019@CTorress99 Sami is my daughter. She's the youngest and smallest on the team. In this video, they were playing up as a team. They won the game to advance to the finals and Sami was voted MVP by the opposing team. She can punch/tap the ball over the crossbar but her best asset is speed and fearlessness to attach the ball. Thanks for voting for her and please share. She's real excited about it all.
