  • WOW. Those spice jars are... amazing, and the commercial was horribly cheesy. Great find!

  • "Apologies for the poor quality in the first part" No apology needed. The worn tape look just adds to the fun.

  • In between the spice jar girl and the RC racer boy was the "Martial Arts Theater" slide. I feel like it's more of a suggestion what we should do to those two kids than a reminder of what we're watching.

  • I always want'ed that Apple Jacks cereal bowl as a kid ,heck I still want one.

  • After watching that "cheesy" spice jar commercial I punched myself.

  • Danny Dark, the voice of NBC, was the "super" voice of Superman in Superfriends!

  • Talk about cheesy... that spice jar commercial was nothing but a Kraft single smothered in Cheez Whiz.

  • Loved the M&M's commercial

  • Gotta love the 80s

  • OK, the furniture commercial was nuts! Did you see that coffee table?? And the bed??? That bedroom set looked like a life-sized plastic Barbie set!! I have never in my life seen a weirder style of furniture than in that commercial. And the lady's veeeeery high-waisted suspender getup was also bizzarre!

  • YEA SUPERFRIENDS!!!!!!!

Thank God for Cartoon Network that still shows them.

  • apple jacks just arent the same anymore..they use to be like crack but i guess since the fda reduced sugar content in a lot of cereals...what a shame.

  • they only sent one spice jar a month? what?!

  • What was with the 1950's obsession in the 80's? Good Lord.

  • The same thing as with the 1980s obsession now :-D

  • The description says Stockton, Alabama, but it's really Stockton, California. That's Weber's Point at the Water Front in Down Town Stockton, California.

    (Hometown.)

    Just pointing it out. ;)

  • Damn! Now I feel stupid...

Is that Ai, or AL? lol

If it's Ai, then you were just putting in what the announcer said, and I feel stupid. But, it looks like the abbreviation for Alabama.

(And yes, there is a Stockton Alabama.)

  • I was actually quoting the Scottish guy in the commercial. The all caps threw you off though.

    "Downtown Stockton, Ai!!!"

  • Yeah, I caught that literally like a minute or two right after I posted. lol

  • You never had Apple Jacks?! You're missin out man! They are AWESOME!!!

  • BTW, do you have any KRON stuff, especially those with the PDI Golden Gate Bridge Legal ID and/or DayBreak Sun logo which was used from 1984-1989?

  • I'm going to be posting two commercial volumes from KRON and a KRON newscast from 1988 soon. None of what you described is in there though...

  • BTW, the LC and Jeopardy! promos on KRON were from the Fall of 1986 because Jim Lange's $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime was on at 4 PM before being pushed to 9:30 AM that fall. Also in that fall of '86, KRON's 4 logo looked more slanted then in the earlier promos as they incorporated the NBC logo beside it and would stay that way until 1988 when the 4 was changed to the one we know today with the red circle debuting in 1991-92.

  • I love the way Delta Dog looks like he's hanging on with rapt attention to every word the Captain says.

  • these older commercials are waaaaay better than the crap today

  • That spice jar commercial is hilarious!!! I laughed for ten minutes!!! Thanks for all the great stuff!!!

  • Doesnt anyone else think its sad that the JEOPARDY! winners of today are pretty much getting the same amount of cash that people were winning 20 years ago??

  • Yeah, the same could be said with those champs that won at the time with the 5 game limit, this got tarnished with the Sky's The Limit rule. It truly is sad.

  • I remember the M&M's commercial with the girls, but there was also a second version where it does thrown in a Mickey Mouse's 50 Years promotion at the end.

  • "80sCommercialVault", I remember this awful cartoon called the Filmation's "Ghostbusters" and it was so horrible. I've seen when it was on my NYC TV station WPIX-TV in New York City back in around 1988 when it was on in the weekday afternoon since I was sick from school. It is worst than the "Real Ghostbusters". After watching this terrible show, I flipped through reruns of the "Real Ghostbusters" on WNYW-TV (channel 5) when it is still a Fox station in NYC during the afternoon.

  • 80sCommercialVault,

    You ROCK!!!!!!!!

  • SUPER FRIENDS!!!!!

I'm totally lost on the Delta Dog/Captain Mitch thing.....

  • Those franklin mint Spice jars look like mini earns, LOLOLOL

  • hahahah

  • Apple Jacks is the stuff! cant get enuf!!

  • "That's not an MRC Tamia!"

Man, shut the fuck up and take the presents kid! XD

  • Did anyone else get an uncontrollable urge to slap the R/C car kid???

That spice jar commercial was so sappy you could pour it on strawberry pancakes...

  • Isn't it all creepy?

  • I DID!! He bought him a sportscar!?!

  • hahahahaa!!!! Look a butterfly on the back!! LAME! HAhaha!

  • I remember I came across a newspaper article from my high school from the 70s. And I mentioned that Ghostbusters would not come out until 8 years later. And a broadcasting teacher at a school in Georgia who is also a graduate of that school pointed out to me that a different Ghostbusters came out in 1975-1976

  • " holy mindbenders! what does it mean Batman?"

    " Not sure Robin!"

he replied so fast that it should have been " Why don't you shut up robin?"

  • Miss...Strawberry Pancake!

That Apple Jacks commercial and the HI-C commercial are two of my all time favorites.

Watch Delta Dog's snout bob up and down as the Captain talks to him. Watch it!

  • How long did KRON air Love Connection before they went to KTVU?

  • It was on from 1983 until 1989 on KRON and then it moved to KPIX for a year from 1989-1990 and in 1990, KTVU picked up the rights to Love Connection.

  • Apple Jacks are about the same as Froot Loops, except only one flavor. Both, however, are less likely to give you a cavity compared with that spice jar commercial.

  • Apple Jacks are really good try them!

  • I used to watch Filmations Ghostbusters and think to myself "what does this have to do with the Ghostbusters", come to find out there was a live action TV show in the 70s I think with Larry Storch from F-Troop

  • It's a terrible, terrible cartoon. Way scarier than "The Real Ghostbusters" ever was purely based on its own wretchedness. The TV rights to use the word "Ghostbusters" apparently still belonged to the people who made the live action show, and Filmation bought those up during production of the movie, forever subjecting children to this awful, awful cartoon.

  • I agree, the show was awful, and the theme song was just as bad "let's go ghostbusters, let's go", UGH!
