I would guess that more and more folks are seeing through the facade of politicians, not just Democrats but the Republicans as well. We have all been treated like a bunch of buffoons by "our" government. We were just busy with our lives, but now you all have our attention. That is not good for Washington.

The Taxpayer Empowerment and Advocacy Act of 2009 is a good piece of legislation. I also appreciate your co-sponsorship of H. R. 1207.

However, sir, I do not not what to think of you. Where was this fiery rhetoric when Bush was running up the debt? You voted for Bush's deficit budgets, which greatly increased the national debt.

Your actions make me think that you are acting for political gain and not on principle. Should I think otherwise?

I think what morerocking is referring to is TARP1 under Bush when every Republican voted nah-baba-nah on the initial version. Remember San Fran Nan's grandstanding where she gave the GOP an ill-advised tongue lashing?That sank the 1st bill and after some modest revisions, it passed with wider Republican support. That's my memory of the events. Correct me if my old brain is failing.

All Republicans voted against the stimulus bill, except 3 liberal republicans; Specter, Snowe and Collins. So don't blame the conservatives. They were outvoted by the the liberals.

To really fix America's money problems you need to co-sponser HR 833.

Your TEA Act is a nice start but put some teeth to it with the co-sponsor of the aforementioned bills.
