This must be the worst fucking Gojira song I've ever heard.. Devon townsend is an absolute mistake to have been included in this genre of music, and any alleged Thordendal contribution is completely illegible.
As usual anything by Gojira is top-notch.......this song is definitely no exception...and to bring in Devin and Fredrik is just icing on the cake...and yes..Meshuggah and SYL are also badass
SYL is my fav band cus of DT but i have harder to like other similar bands. this song is decent. messhugah is even harder for me to listen to. its just moshing and kinda same tune in all songs (for me it is) tho i really respect there music and all the influences they have given to all other bands. like SYL. would be nice to see gojira live tho :)

im gonna be honest. gojira sounds much more powerful as themselves. the guest vocals and guitars are ok, but nobody can even attempt to play the tone gojira does. gojira is a perfect band tha should not be touched by any other artist. that being said, this song still sounds great, but with more mainstream themes like vacuity. although, i did think the song when blyth was guest vocals was great. i could imagine blyth being able to obtain the sound of gojira. im a fucked up fan lol

How technical a band is indeed doesn't matter, it's about the music. Gojira isn't that technical, at least when it comes to the guitar. And there's plenty of bands who are techincal but make shitty music.
I don't have a very formed opinion on this (which of the two would be better, etc.), and while Devin Townsend makes some good music, I think he's not as great as all these dedicated fans keep saying.
You should take that up with Gojira, Meshuggah and Devin Townsend didn't force themselves into this recording. Gojira probably asked for them personally, because they are some of the music business best artists.

After some research into what's going on with the E.P I found this interview online from Gojira
"Right now it’s pretty much impossible to work on the E.P while we do the album. But as soon as that's finished, we’re going to be getting right back to work on the EP. It’s important for us to finish this, there are songs on it that we love and a lot of people have worked on, so we’re definitely going to release it. We can’t give any conclusive dates on it but it’s definitely going to come out"

Saw these guys years back in camden underworld, never sweated, bruised so much at such a small gig. Was one heck of a memorable night, truly awesome band with heavy rifts. Nice knowing there is a metal band out there that has some intelligent lyrics.
I've seen Gojira twice in 2008 and 2009. I saw Slipknot on the side stage at Ozzfest, I think it was in 1999 in their masks and red suits and I remembering thinking, who are these fools, I wonder when Slayer will be on!
@namzop Slipknot. You can hate on them all you want but they're one of the biggest modern metalbands. Gojira is awesome and they're not nearly as big as Slipknot:a good thing, they're more an underdog.
I don't see your point. Lady Gaga and Justin Beiber will outsell the likes of Gojira, Mastodon, Meshuggah and all of Devin Townsend's works put together, but it doesn't mean they're any good. In fact, commercial success almost always correlates with poor music.

They did not relie on anything, they simply made their music, poured all their emotions into it and wearing masks and suits was a part of it. But they could not care less about how people think about them. You should invest your negative energy into something positive. @Direksone I agree, but none of that changes the fact that they were very commercial. And I do think that the costumes were mainly for being commercial and attracting attention. not that its a bad thing because it looks pretty damn cool in my book

@namzop Let's hope they are, just started listening to Gojira and I am very, very impressed, absolutely love it. Some bands don't get big 'till later in their, Lamb of God for example. Let's hope Gojira shares the same fate. Slipknot does not make circus metal my friend;) AHIG is a very good and mature sounding album. Their early stuff put me off as well, but when AHIG came out I gave it a shot and really a great album, never hurts to try. That's why I now listen to Gojira.

@namzop I can only imagine, love the footage from Vielleus Charrues, really, really awesome. I myself am more a fan of albums around 3-5, cause most of the time that's when a band has really found and/or finetuned their sound. Gojira is definately a keeper in my book!

After some research into what's going on with the E.P I found this interview online from Gojira
"Right now it’s pretty much impossible to work on the E.P while we do the album. But as soon as that's finished, we’re going to be getting right back to work on the EP. It’s important for us to finish this, there are songs on it that we love and a lot of people have worked on, so we’re definitely going to release it. We can’t give any conclusive dates on it but it’s definitely going to come out"

Saw these guys years back in camden underworld, never sweated, bruised so much at such a small gig. Was one heck of a memorable night, truly awesome band with heavy rifts. Nice knowing there is a metal band out there that has some intelligent lyrics.

I've seen Gojira twice in 2008 and 2009. I saw Slipknot on the side stage at Ozzfest, I think it was in 1999 in their masks and red suits and I remembering thinking, who are these fools, I wonder when Slayer will be on!

@big12oz Their sound was more unique than just calling it nu-metal. They were a completely new movement soundwise. They did not relie on anything, they simply made their music, poured all their emotions into it and wearing masks and suits was a part of it. But they could not care less about how people think about them. You should invest your negative energy into something positive. @namzop Let's hope they are, just started listening to Gojira and I am very, very impressed, absolutely love it. Some bands don't get big 'till later in their, Lamb of God for example. Let's hope Gojira shares the same fate. Slipknot does not make circus metal my friend;) AHIG is a very good and mature sounding album. Their early stuff put me off as well, but when AHIG came out I gave it a shot and really a great album, never hurts to try. That's why I now listen to Gojira.
