  • Fucking incredible playing. Love him, love them.

  • PHIL MOGG!

  • Best solo ever!

  • Schenker is the bomb!

  • Always think it looks odd seeing him stood on the left of the stage. More used to him on the right.

  • Master guitar player. Top 3 all time for me.

  • This is from the Roundhouse Show-London

  • Rock and Roll 101 people...Awesome!

  • memories!!!!!

  • if only mr.schenker could learn to play. lol

  • Melhor do MUNDO!

  • ufo must underrated rock band ever

  • DID STEVE HARRIS SNAG THE BASS PLAYER'S DRESS UP STYLE

  • @ironfistist Yep, pete way was a huge to harris's style, both image and playing :

    )

  • my fave guitar!!!

  • simply one of the best rock bands of all time.

  • fuck yeah !

  • UFO...Eddie Trunk approved!

  • The solo work at 1:42 is breathtaking. 4th gear to 1st with feel and technique.

Michael was a phenomenon. Hey what a great album title. Hmmmm

  • CHECK OUT MY BAND THRILL WE ARE BRINGING BACK WHAT THE MUSIC SCENE HAS BEEN MISSING FOR ALMOST 4 DECADES!!!!!

  • Sounds like this was Micheal's prototype for "Into The Area".

  • DON'T EVER mention the gay ass "Crock N Roll Hall Of Fame"...they put like Madonna and SHIT like that and not RUSH???!!!....Madonna's rock??!!?? I fucking hate them!!!! What a joke they are

  • @mjw9363 Sorry i can only give you 1 thumbs up.

  • @daven58100 thanx man

  • PHIL MOOG!!!!!!!

  • Gotta agree. I stumbled onto UFO in the mid 70`s in Australia on some music program and have been with them ever since. Now it`s Metallica..........

  • Favorite band ever! Listening to and finding kick ass rock-N-roll didn't come easy when UFO hit the air in the States back in the early 70's

Back then , just like today the radio was cluttered with mostly bullshit !

No YouTube, just the BoobTube. The only way you could get a crack at the good shit was to stay up way past your bedtime (I was only about 12 when this came out), sneak into the tv room and flip on Kirchners Rock Concert or Midnight Special

Then hope you could find the album

  • @AttilaThe1 Dude, Kirchner and Midnight Special. Thank God for that Chicago station making it all the way down to Corpus Christi, Texas. Only way to know of great hard rock and metal back then was word of mouth cuz someone saw them in concert. great days, those were.

  • proving why this band are in a class of thier own

  • jeez- widen the range for the list of guitar players- Al Di Meola anyone? how 'bout Gutherie Govan?

  • If we're talkin top guitar players here then I gotta mention (In no particular order), Schenker (obviously), Frank Zappa (Check YouTube - Stevie's Spanking live which he wrote for Vai and they both rock out live), Stevie Ray Vaughan, Brian May, Randy Rhodes, Tony Iommi... Okay, gotta go for now. Drinkin wine and now I'm off to watch Stevie's Spanking..

  • Pete Way's bass is out of tune.

  • UFO shoulda been bigger than Led Zep!!

  • @AxlMidas naw. UFO was awesome though!

  • I bought ufo force in summer 1975 with out ever hearing them play I was not disapointed still one of my favorite albums much better than any thing from the eagles this is music at its best!!!

  • Michael Schenker, a guitar hero!

  • How about Roy Buchanan?

  • @TequilaJoeID

I totally agree!! HOW ABOUT ROY BUCHANAN?! ☺

  • Michael Schenker and Uli Jon Roth are on my top list of best guitar players like Satriani,Blackmore,George Lynch,Vai,Gilbert,Van Halen,Jason Becker,(early) Malmsteen,Randy Rhoads,Nuno Bettencourt,Vinnie Moore,Gary Moore,John Norum,Steve Howe,Steve Lukather,Eric Johnson,and so many others....

  • Can listen to Force It all the time. Can't get enough! Always delivers. No Heavy Petting Great as well!

  • FORCE IT! all time classic album, it was my soul food in '74-'75 & i still listen to it all the way through very regularly. one of those rare albums where pretty much every track is brilliant!

  • Damn Right.

  • Uli and Schenker......ya, both great guitar players. But the best ever? I won't say that they are not but I can think of at least a dozen guitaists that I equally admire...... Warren DiMartini, Randy Rhoads, Jimmy Page, Adam Jones, Joe Perry, Slash, van Halen early works, Tonni Iommi, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Marino, Ted Nugent....

Or bands...TheEagles, Lynard Skynard, Judas Priest, Scorpions, LA Guns, Suicidal Tendencies, Allman Brothers,...

Remember Lou Reeds live version of Sweet Jane? Sweet!

  • Schenker and Roth are worlds apart from Slash,DiMartini,Perry, and Iommi. Its not even close for me. But thats just me. And yes I have heard all of their work.

Schenker from 72-84 and Roth's work with the Scorps is some of the best ever.

  • I saw UFO just after Schenker had left and was so disappointed and felt cheated that Paul Chapman was playing guitar instead of Schenker. This shows me what I could have witnessed.

  • @andreaneilcmc I saw them with Schenker open for Rush, that was a dream concert! It was Lights Out for UFO and I believe Farewell to Kings for Rush - could be wrong about that one, I saw Rush probably 30 times. Anyway, Schenker was really on fire! sorry you missed that and I never cared for Paul Chapman either. He didn't suck, but compared to Schenker he did.

Oh and anybody who said Schenker was EVER faster than Uli is a fucking lop! LMFAO!!!!

Love 'em both but get real, dumbass!

  • Melodic as hell hard rock.

    God I love this shit.

BTW Force It is THE album for UFO.

And yes the live capper Strangers.

  • Schenker did alot of great guitar work for a kid!!! He was a teenager when he was in UFO!!!

  • he was 24 when he first quit ....

  • schenker is number 1 ..pure cold german steel but with feel....

  • my favorite ufo !!!

  • no one played melodic hard rock guitar any better than michael schenker, ever. the accolades are all deserved. he had it all...speed, style, grace, and the genius to make incredible melodies in the midst of all that tightly controlled fury.

  • oh yeah my user name is dedicated to yngwie j malmsteen and m schenker is still better because he makes his on melodies up instead of repeating penatonic scales

  • hey shit whore yngwie used alot of phrygian and hermonic minor not penatonic

  • i could care less about your opinions,m schenker is king check and mate

  • response to shit whore..the only guitar player as fast as m schenker may have possibly been richie blackmore who wasnt on your list ,al di meola wasnt in a rock band, and uli jon roth isnt as fast. your a stupid cunt

  • Uli Jon Roth not as fast as Schenker? Hmm

I'd have to disagree. It doesn't matter. Schenker and Roth are my 2 favorite guitar players all time. Have been listening to them for over 25 years now. I'm the biggest fan of both of them.

They are the 2 best at what they do. Melodic hard rock with style. Both excel at melody, phrasing, tone, vibrato, speed, with a the ability to write great great songs/solo's that are fresh and not sounding repetitive. The best 2 hard rock lead guitarist ever. Peace.

  • Yes Schenker has slowed down a bit to much alcoohol, drugs and a bitch wife for a little extra. Te ll me dont all of this make you guys slow down specially a bitch wife.

  • I was talking about in the 70's. In their prime.

  • Comment removed

  • during this time in rock schenker was the fastest at guitar i dont know any others who had his speed at that time

  • fuck you faggot, learn your rock guitar players,

    al di meola

    uli jon roth

    RANDY FUCKING RHOADS

    VAN HALEN

alright, compared to these guys michael shenker is not a fast player so go fuck your mother you cunt licking mother fucker

    from shit whore 9000

  • I said at this time 1975,eddie vanhalen an randy rhodes were in 80s bands you dumb cock suck you dont know shit

  • your wrong faggot

van halen 1 was released in 1978

and before thast he still must have been very fast so shove that in ur ass hole and spread whip cream on ur pussy

uli jon roth was in scorpians way before they played this so

eat my big fat black gorrila cock you dick chesse

  • get your ass off my dick I knew all this shit already about guitar players m schenker rules so fuck off

  • right on dude.

  • yes he is a cunt licking and you are a cock suckin faggot. Schenker was the man duting mid and late 70's and early 80's no one except Blackmoore was up to his level. The established guitarist during this time just stayed away and admired this German kid...and thats the fact dude. Another fact your a cock sucker.

  • i may be a cock sucker but ur momma is chuwbacka's hairy cock

anyways my grandma is faster then this cock licking fatt ass. Me and Eddie make sex and he told me how fast his finger where when he wrap them around my pussy flap ohhh i loved it Ohh eddie suck my gazzel cock

  • thanks for getting my back ,that guys a little bitch we fuckin know who rules

  • Schenker is unbelievable.Way underrated,imo.

  • a strong case can be made that UFO at their peak were the best rock band to see live ever, and even though that's a strong statement, I think it can be made. Here are some others that were this good live:

    J. Geils Band

    UFO

    King Crimson

Can u name any other bands this good live? I can't. I can think of a lot of great live bands, but no lone else was this good.

  • best bands i ever saw live, in this order:

    Wolfmother, Magazine, Muse.

    Worst: the Damned.

  • All great choices. I would put Mahoghany-Rush,Thin Lizzy, Rainbow in there too. All great live bands. Good call on King Crimson. They were out of this world.

  • Hell yeah! Schenker's my main man--

  • probably the best guitarist ever, awesome! in the true sense of the word.

  • somebody turn up the a/c. musta been hella hot arena, why the drenched look?

  • Tons of Lead Singers owe their ARSES to Phil Mogg. He is such a raw singer and performer. Underrated! LONG LIVE THE UFO.

  • I've always thought this song and a few other UFO songs sounded like Iron Maiden. Underrated Band. LONG LIVE THE UFO!

  • What made me dream and trip out on UFO is that they were a band, they made everthing sound so good.

  • To this day I've never heard a better guitar tone than this and its all in his fingers.

  • UFO in my opinion is the greateast band of their time wanna hear a great meta band from today? check out mastodon new albu crack the skye! album of the deacade butseriously check it out

  • Not even Clapton has this tone and phrasing.

  • UFO were a class act.

Probably the greatest rock band ever.

  • UFO are a class act still, look at their homepage and their concerts...

  • Spinal Tap's influence is pretty apparent here.

  • So sorry you've never been to an actual concert. Watched UFO open for Rush '78. Sucks to be old but that aint Spinal Tap.

  • You obviously don't listen to much UFO. They smoke.

  • lol except spinal tap was like 7 or 8 years later

  • man what a fluid vibrato technique...good to finally see it in action..players will notice what i'm seeing. unbelieveably hard to master this.

  • Mastering anything on a flying V is a miracle, Michael makes it looks so easy its really an art unto itself given his guitar of chioce.

  • It's really a matter of preference, I prefer V's too, and think they're easy to play.

  • 59 Gibson V's are thicker and much heavier than the ones the make today. They do make you work a little more.

    Schenker is a maestro.

  • UFO invented the 80s bands, look style and sound. From Def Leppard's rip offs to Van Halen's cloning. Plain & simple.

    Only difference?

They were better than any of the copycats.

  • Pretty bold statement there, but I guess that what these comments are for: to make rash statements to get people to argue with you over something that is purely opinion and impossible to prove.

  • Many won't argue that UFO is the most underrated hard rock band ever..and that's ok, in a selfish way.

Back in mid/late 70's while many were still listening to KISS (after "Destroyer", their last decent effort), others were paying attention to UFO, Budgie, Motorhead, B. Scott/AC-DC, JP and other "obscure"-at the time- bands.

They had little to no radio airplay, no MTV, few rock mags like Circus and Creem to get exposure and Midnight Special...but we certainly had the BESTconcerts. \m/

  • I'm not arguing any of that. I love UFO. I just think that saying they invented it and everyone else is rip offs is a bit ridiculous. Yes, Michael Schenker was a big influence on a lot of guitar players, but I really don't think that Van Halen ripped them off

  • Schenker is a German & Van Halen is of German decent & I would think Eddie listened to Michael a little bit although Eddie has said that Jimmy Page was his biggest influence

  • and eddies is a liar he talks saying wish i could play like Uli hmmmmmmmmm doesnt that tell you Eddie has been listening to this guys way b4.

  • Eddie Van Halen's biggest influence was not Jimmy Page but Eric Clapton (Eddie could play every Clapton song by the age of 14). Jimmy inspired to tap from the guitar break in "Heartbreaker".

  • I agree with ya MeanrBeanr. Ufo/thinlizzy/rainbow

Scorpions w/ uli, and many more didnt get shit 4 airplay. Im very lucky to have grown up in that period of music, those were the days man. Carving empty pools in the 70s with my skateboard buddies, cranking ufo in da pool. What a ride! peace

  • The first sentence of the comment below is one of the most stupid things I've ever read.

  • wildvikes1 has a point or two. Soecially Blackmoore, I noticed alot of Blackmoore live concerts.

  • Page and Blackmore are two of the sloppiest guitarists in music. They use the tremolo to hide their inability. Noboby plays with the feeling and talent of MICHAEL SCHENKER.

  • Jimmy Page doesn't use the tremolo.

  • omg - best music ever !

    schenker is really GOD

    Page too

    Blackmore also

    peace

  • yes schenker is totally bad ass and deserves all props--but man--check out that friggin bass player that guys really putting a beating to that bass--man he jams too

  • UFO deserves to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.........

  • @zman1974 YES THEY DO!

  • @zman1974 I really don't think so... have you seen all the shit they put in recently? I'm dissapointed

  • the best melodic chorus of ... ...the galaxy

  • The two most underrated bands of all time are Blackmore's Rainbow and UFO!!!

  • You gotta add thin lizzy as well. Rainbow, ufo, thin lizzy by far the the top three.....peace

  • I thought Michael was cutting edge in the 70's (he still is), a fresh melodic style, there are some all time classic melodies on UFO records ...

  • Niesamowita gitara Michaela Schenkera

  • This solo is responsible for getting me into the Great Schenker!!

  • bom-diggity

  • Hey look! It's God disguised as Michael Schenker!

  • O wow I see that!!!

  • Best solo ever!!! Period!!! right next to the Wishbone Ashes Throw down the sword!

  • That's right. There isn't any bad song in "Force It"

  • "Force It" is one of the best hard-rock albums ever. Lots of good tunes on that album.

  • this is a true GEM!...black spandex suit, long blonde hair, vintage 5000yr old gibson...damn good post.

  • Tasty solo!!

  • My all time favorite song from the best album "force it".

  • put black cold coffee here!

  • this band is freaking god damn good!!!

  • Phenomenon and Force It. (faucet, as they say in england, which explains the cover)2 albums worth their weight in gold for me. What a unique band.

  • I love UFO and the Stones maybe more than anyone on the planet. You can't compare the 2. Two different types of music really. The only thing they have in common is the blues base from which they work.UFO more hard rock-Stones more blues

  • is that M. Schenker on lead guitar?

  • Nope. That's God on lead guitar

  • nice.....

  • I would say that is the DEVIL!!!

  • Yes

  • Yes

  • If you people like this song you should obtain Force It. An amazing album.

  • UFO, the greatest band ever!!!

  • whao.. great solo

  • "No heavy petting" makes my top 10 list, but I love the "force it" album to. Some of the best heavy metal ever, thanks for posting these guys in their prime!!!

  • you forgot on with the action. it's the sickest song on that album.

  • on with the action is bad ass, really hard to find a weak track on that album, natural thing, highway lady, martian landscpe, can you roll her, but my fav is, I'm a loser

  • gotta love this stuff even though ufo is before my time it totally destroys

  • Michael was and still is the most underrated rock and roll guitarist there is! Absolutly amazing!

  • Tasty and powerful Michael Schenker - what a guitar GOD. One of my favorite songs/leads by the master. Thanks so much for posting. Is this off a dvd collection?

  • Saw That UFO is touring this spring,Mar. in Chi. Anybody hear who's in the band for this tour?

  • Unfortunately Michael Schenker hasn't been with UFO in the past couple of years, but it's basically the classic lineup aside from him. Phil Mogg on vox, Pete Way on Bass, Paul Raymond on keys and guitar, drummer Andy Parker, with VINNIE MOORE now on guitar. I hope to catch em at the New Jersey date

  • Figured Schenker was probably out as MSG was just through town, but as long as the rest of the band is intact they're worth seeing. Thanks for the info, I didn't want to go to 1 of those "reunion" concerts that had Pete Way and 4 hired hands.

  • Comment removed

  • Michael Schenker was to lead guitar what the MG-42 was to machine guns. The best.

  • Saw these guys in '77 and still hasn't been topped for WORST concert I've ever seen. They were completely trashed. Way spent the entire night laying on his back on the drum stand,Mogg was slurring the lyrics, tripping around stage and couldn't have hit a note with a Louisville slugger. Only Michael was up to par, but I never could let 1 bad night change my opinion, I still love 'em!

  • UFO was an extremely underrated band. These guys wrote so many great songs.

  • Ah Schenker.. this is when Mad Mikey could raise goosebumps with just one note..classic

  • Smoothest gunslinger in the West

  • i love scheckners guitar. tried it and its just amazing

  • Hey guys, Louie Bellson was playing double bass in the 40's.

  • Excellent!! Thank you for posting this!!!

  • Ginger Baker was using double bass in the 60's ...

  • One of the first double bass songs ever. Class

  • Simply the BEST!!!

  • yeah ,i seen them in72 with my brother

  • one of best songs of ufo,and one of best solo ever played

  • Schenker is the David Gilmour of Hard Rock!

  • cool flyin v

  • Still say Phil Mogg is a crappy singer. When he put vocals down in the studio, they must have done hundreds of "punch-ins" to get a decent vocal take from him. But Michael Schenker is The Real Deal!

  • Michael Schenker is still the LAW when it comes to guitar players.

  • Have to disagree...UFO would not have been what it was without him

  • lol highly doubt that, seen moog live a few times, great vocals

  • Kick ass video, UFO's material from this time

period are second to none! Schenkers the best!

  • Good kick ass stuff... they relied on their musical talent rather than a bunch of lights and explosions to wow the crowd with. UFO rocked!!!

  • has anyone heard ufo In session & live in concert.bbc archive series 74 to 77,with michael Schenker? It's a fantastic cd.IF you havent get it you will love it.

  • This is a real gem. Thanks.

  • Let it roll has Michael Schenker on lead - awesome!

Saw Phil and band at House of Blues Chicago July 2005 - they can still rock!!! He looks a lot younger in this video!!!!

  • Cool video. Great song. Schenker is incredible. But ... Phil Mogg is a terrible singer.

  • Phil Mogg is one of the best frontmen in hardrock ever,he lost his voice on this concert cant you tell jesus lol

  • woooow schenker has got awsome skills on guitar, he is sure the innovator of modern blues-metal stuff
