true in the the late 60's early 70's ford did the 427 427 cj 427 scj also in the 428 and 429. manly seen in the mach 1 mustangs as the 429's produced more hp the 428 scj was an aluminum block and heads making it light so it was faster on the track. but i comes down to what u r really going to do with the engine...go full N/A w/ high compression or supercharge turbo or spray. maybe a combo of the above. aluminum blocks don't wrk well like that so full cast iorn is the way to go
