@johnnylarue1 Stewart Copeland doesn't really do solos that much. He's much more at home playing along to a tune. Just listen to the brilliance of his playing when the band is going with him. The solo section was not the focus of his performance. That's why he made it as short as he did.
I don't think "Like" is really strong enough for this clip! Whew!! I do believe Stewart is my favorite drummer of all time! And this coming from a guitarist! :)
I remember seeing him live when he came to Ireland for The Police's comeback tour, Amazing! His grip style is quite unusual especially in his right hand, is it french grip can anyone tell me?
True dat, man... I've gotta check out more of Gavin's stuff, amazed by what I've heard so far.. but he's got to lay it down for a few more years before we attach the 'God' label... he'll be there
His drumming during the music is musical and very good. When it drops out and he solo's it was def weak and poorly constructed. I have heard MANY local drummers solo better. But, like I said.. his parts during the music were great! And I do love his Tom sound. He is and will always be a legend.
Love stewart thanx for uploading. Can you tell me all the drummers who played on letterman for this drum event. I only got to see Copeland, and Peart. Thanx bro. P.s keep posting those lessons too bro, ur an awesome teacher, i stopped seeing my teacher, when he moved, and ur just as detailed and simplistic, yet awesome.
@wikid83 Week one was Anton Fig, Sheila E, Roy Hanes Jr, and Neil Peart. Week two was Tony Royster Jr, Gavin Harrison, Stewart Copeland, Dennis Chambers.
One of the greatest drummers ever! Nobody utilizes every single pc. of the kit---and so musically-- like Stewart. And P.S. to PS: solos were never his thing-- he says it all during every song, which is more important anyway
@yubbiz He's a master no doubt, and while his solo is weak, a solo doesn't define a drummer, and he is an amazing drummer, one of the best of all time. But Gavin Harrison is a drum GOD!
It's a god

@LiveOnJohn40 He is using traditional grip... very rare amoung rock drummers of his stature... Neil Peart Used Traditional Too

love the way he plays the WHOLE kit where as other drummers would just stick to snare, few toms and some cymbals
