Some riffs from blodsrit may be sounding "melancholic" (?), but fundamentally ... it's black metal, nothing more. You don't agree ? So explain me what is melancholic black metal, and what are the roots and main bands of this genre.
It's a pity that those Candlemass did this song first, and that they wrote such bad lyrics to it. I hate doom metal. All doom bands suck, even those I haven't heard.
@EpicMetal69 Doom metal is one of the genres I've barely explored. Closest thing I've listened to I guess is just depressive black metal. Regardless, doom metal seems pretty rad.
This cover is excellent. Blodsrit have succeeded in perfectly capturing the depressing atmosphere of the original Candlemass song. I really like the fast part ("eart to earth', etc.), contrary to Candlemass who did this part slower than the rest of the song. It all works perfectly. I actually like this cover the best from the Helveteshymner album. Well done, Blodsrit!
