  • Defense contractor... so the guy was essentially VP of a war profiteering company, ie. everything that is wrong with America today.

  • This whole thing seems like an unintentional Ron Paul endorsement.

  • Great interview.. lots of worthwhile information. Thanks!

  • Interview with an Orc and his hoards of Gold and Silver!

  • Coal, oil, seaweed

  • and now its SOLAR energy. SOLAR!! FROM THE SUN!! oil companies need to stop lobbying against solar energy progress.

  • @kadjrare nothing wrong with solar... but no energy that requires government subsities is going to work... like eithinol.. if it can't exist without goverment grants, it should exist...

  • @mikeinmass Solar is in a state of development. Like many developing industries,to subsidise solar (and allow the subsidies to reduce and expire over time) while it is still developing can pay great dividends long term.

That is what is wrong with oil and corn subsidies, they never had an expiry date.

  • @mikeinmass Please research oil subsidizes! Without them we would sill be burning coal to generate steam. Government subsidizes have jump started many technologies. Nuclear is also subsidized.

  • @jesushatesyoutoo The fact is we are talking monkeys and every nuclear power plant is a loaded gun aimed at the head of our civilization. Globalism and Capitalism mixed with keynesian economics is a recipe for destruction, technology is a double edged sword and will be our down fall if we don't fix ourselves before we fix others. Take a full gram of psilocybin shrooms, and think about the government. Ron Paul 2012, because hes not a bank.

  • @RFInterests Typical Ron Paulbot! You can't win on the topic so you shift to another issue! The point was NOT whether you agree with nuclear energy or not! The point is the government has ALWAYS been at the front of technology development! Now go back to your mother's basement, hide in the corner, and beat off to your Ron Paul posters!

  • @jesushatesyoutoo Oh sorry I did go off there. You right actually in a skewed wishful thinking way, government (the military) has used brilliant minds to leverage power over others for thousands of years. the current state of computing is a great example of technology naturally growing without some power structure trying to mess with it, It was nice however for the gov. to lay down the fiber optic cables...of course if it wasn't for entrepreneurs, Clinton wouldn't look as good

  • @jesushatesyoutoo Oh and also, Im working in a construction management start up, and our software that we are creating ....... HAS NOTHING THE FUCK TO DO WITH THE GOVERNMENT! you really need to step back and stop thinking of the federal government as your benevolent father. IDEAS which come to INDIVIDUALS in pursuit of their best interest create the momentum needed for innovation IE technology. yeah, you are woefully incorrect in you view of technology. Proud to be a "Paul Bot"

  • @RFInterests Please research ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer). You maybe working on software. But that is like saying you created fuel injection for the internal combustion engine. You are such and idiot. Where did I claim that the government was a benevolent father? Government has always taken risks the private companies are too afraid invest in. Yes it is the individuals that come up with the idea but it takes capital to get the technology off the ground.

  • @jesushatesyoutoo Ok, that's great (ENIAC), please note though that it was created for war, not for the betterment of peoples lives, other private individuals did that. I meant "benevolent father" in the Freudian sense, my perceived impression of people that look towards the federal government for solving their problems. I have no problem with liberal thinking so long as it is not mandated and done locally. Solyndra a company I applied to after college is a good example of -->

  • @jesushatesyoutoo Government money being used to push alternative energy technologies (something Im very passionate about). Solyndra got drunk from government money and miss calculated their advantage due to the narrow supply of a certain chemical they didn't need, the supply increased and their advantage was gone and their gov money was invested in infrastructure with no demand on the horizon. They Failed, millions of dollars that could have stayed in local governments or ->

  • @jesushatesyoutoo People was sunk into single company, why didnt other Solar companies get the same chunk of cash? they were all working on the same problem. My position is that the FEDERAL government is being engorged by this top down mentality propagated by most liberals and fake conservatives, not to mention the Media who loves having issues in the federal arena because its easier to cover. I like liberals, I just think its tragic they don't act locally.

  • Ron Paul saw it coming...

  • @RFInterests Even broken clocks are right twice a day

  • @epsilon8998 HAHAHAHAHAH! Good one, I guess the wars is the other time then... or maybe its the Federal Reserve giving 16 TRILLION to central banks destroying the power of the dollar day by day... Or maybe its his condemnation of SOPA... or Maybe its his staunch opposition to a the NDAA Bill... or maybe its his ethical use of the constitution.... You are misinformed, the system is out of control, our planet is dying, I suggest investing in some personal responsibility. Wake up.

  • @RFInterests *slurp slurp slurp slurp* Hear that? That's the sound of Ron Paul getting his dick sucked by you.

  • @epsilon8998 Wow you should jerk off to a little less gay porn, I think its showing up in your writing. Not to mention, "even broken - ect." is a cop out, and gay. You are narrow minded talking monkey on a "team" and throwing shit at the ONLY candidate for president that is not banker bought and follows the constitution. *slurp slurp* You have nothing, offer nothing, and are following a failing series of ideologies. Take some shrooms and think.

  • @RFInterests Lol looks like I found a tender spot. You must be taking shrooms if you think Ron Paul is any kind of desirable candidate. Too bad he will NEVER be President of anything you jackass lol. Why don't you go down to your mom's basement and get back to sucking dick you Ron Paul worshipping retard.

  • @epsilon8998 Tender spot? Sorry, to do that you would actually have to say something of merit that went in the face of my current belief model. As I said, you have nothing, maybe ad hominem attacks or fear tactics but nothing of logical consequence in regards to Ron Paul candidacy... dam now you made me feel sorry for you. Have a good day, and do some intellectual research on psychedelics there is a reason the government make them illegal and its not for our own good.

  • @RFInterests There is no arguing with morons like you. Who needs to argue about Ron Paul when his candidacy is a total joke. I feel sorry you think that guy actually has a chance lol. I'm having a great day thank you, I just hope you dig a deeper hole to stand in because this is great lol. Please give me more. I am seriously enjoying this.

  • @epsilon8998 Yeah, we will just have to see what happens with Ron Paul, but already there is a surge in awareness of issues because of him. 20 years ago most people didn't know what the FED was, now its a household word. Its going to be an intellectual revolution (hopefully), the establishment has compromised itself with corporate money, crippling its ability to serve the people in a time when the internet is making this fact embarrassingly obvious. Real change comes from people.

  • @RFInterests Too bad this "revolution" is actually a reaction, a roll-back to previous times and not a step forward, and that the people he serves are actually corporate interests.

  • @epsilon8998 oh ok, didn't see this response. This isnt a roll-back, this is simply stating the rule of law in our country. If you like the direction our government has been going in the last 10 years then i have to question your motives. multiple undeclared Wars, the stripping down of our Constitution, 4th and 5th amendments, the militarization of our police force, if thats a step forward, then I will be stepping back. He isnt serving corporations he is making them compete on an>

  • @epsilon8998 Even Playing field. Ask Obama and Romney about Corporate Person-hood... Ron Paul has stated over and over that corporations should not be able to have the same rights as a US citizens.

  • @epsilon8998 I might add this will be my last response to you, unless you actually attack Ron Pauls position with logic or facts (thats how debate works). I dont even know where you stand on anything, just that you seem to disregard a guy who is basically running on a platform of ethics from non-pandering perspective, I should think anyone who researches politics would find that refreshing. Please grow up and argue a point, maybe you have one.

  • thanks david, really enjoy these sorts of extended interviews with intelligent folks. (side note : willing to bet mr. martenson is an atheist, can't see why else he would think his religious views would scare off people from his other opinions)

  • If you are worried about a collapse I would invest in bullets. They last a long time, they seem to be increasing in value and if there is a collapse bullets will be much more valuable than gold.

  • Gold is also a bubble. So is silver. But even if that bubble bursts, the gold is still there.

  • @dangerouslytalented gold is still there... at a dramatically reduced price... so if you buy at 1800 an ounce and it goes down to 800 an ounce (or less - which is where it was before this bubble)... you've lost ????? much...

  • @mikeinmass You are better off buying some kind of metal that has not been subject to rampant speculation.

Problem is, ingots of lead are heavy and bulky.
