I have this LP and love every song, incl this one. Am seeing him in Spokane WA and Moses Lake WA at the end of August - CAN'T WAIT!!! I love Leon - he is the greatest and coolest. Is anyone else going??
@daffodils077 If you like this song, check out "Dixie Lullaby Now And Then". It starts out with Leon's appearance at the Grammy's last year and half way thru, it goes into his 1972 tour. It will blow your mind.
I've seen Leon a bunch of times and in many states - Always a quality show
This song is not on Carney It's a Blue colored record - it just says Leon Russell - and my record has "shelter records" written on the upper Left corner
Carney is a great record and it is one of the first 10 albums I spent my allowance on
@stubbsflugel I was there, too! I've seen Leon every time he's been thru the Detroit area since 1970 when he was with Mad Dogs and Englishmen. I saw him here on August 7th. It was great and it was the 47th time I've seen him. I can't wait until #48!
@tlynch1218 I absolutely love Bob! I;ll be there in A2 also. This is letting you know about how old I am, but I used to see The Bob Seger System at a local high school on Friday nights! I was third row center stage at Cobo Hall for the recording of "Live Bullet", and I've seen Bob almost as many times as I've seen Leon! Bob is one of our finest Motown boys made good.
@tlynch1218 same age! same concerts. he was our client at my law firm in l.a. i have seen him as many times as i have changed diapers!!!! i'm 55, still changing diapers and going to dallas to see my boy rock his heart our and security doing their damdest to keep me in my seat!!!!! instead of dancing in the aisle. i sure do miss the old days for concerts. the blue smoke, the standing at the stage, they are so antiseptic now!
@tlynch1218 Oh, I agree. Remember trying to see the stage thru the haze of pot smoke? The higher the seats, the thicker the smoke and the higher the audience!
@judecreek2 man, things just aren't the same any more. no one will ever experience our 70s. all the concerts you could ever want to see for 7 bucks a ticket. 10 bucks for a bag of weed. a bottle of wine and you had yourself one cheap, great time! all day concerts in austin with leon, joe cocker, peter frampton, zztop. and the next month it would be the allman brothers, marshall tucker, lynard skynard and jefferson airplane. and a good time was had by all!
@tlynch1218 Foghat, Three Dog Night, J. Geils, Frank Zappa and the Mothers, Humble Pie..............we could go on, but I think I just had a head rush.
Kilmartin: I have seen him three times in the past 3 years -- twice in Greensboro and once in Raleigh. Leon smokes, period. Nobody like him. Plus his band is wonderful. Recommend you go.
makes me wish i had some weed.
