I flew ATA at the height of its massive and rapid expansion out of MDW around 2001-2003. The newer aircraft (737-800, 757-300) Had the safety video...I was wondering why they stopped using the video. Did the In Flight Entertainment System not work or something or did they get rid of it all together for cost cutting reasons?
@stevenroxyosox The Entertainment System was working fine. We were doing manual demos while a new video version was being produced. The older "Blue Man" demo had to be updated because of some new FAA requirements.
So you say that the great airline and great employees got what we deserved?
The employees WERE ATA. What sucks is that in the end, the management was NOT ATA. The hedge fund that took over and kicked George out didn't give a crap about ATA.
i'm saying that when you manage a business like ATA did, it's predictable that what happened would happen...as far as who kicked george out, well, i dont know if even he gave a crap about the employees...it was a business and all involved will do whats most beneficial to themSELVES, including beloved uncle george
I miss working for ATA too, I was the last class of 87 flew for over a decade out of DTW. First trip I worked was L1011 to spain MAC flight. We alll got to know vegas very, very well back in those days. ATA should have stuck with just doing charter Scheduled killed a great Airline.
actually to my knowledge...when they added business class they could no longer use the safety video because it was no longer accurate--FAA stuff. They intended on making a new video but of course that was one thing they never got around to doing.
wow/. how old is she? she's so funny!! i love it!! actually, i watched it coz we will have our in flight safety demo in our school.. diz helps a lot^_^
What a wonderful lady! She is truly a genuine Stewardess or airline hostess. I envey the many passengers who got to meet her and enjoy her hospitality over the years. The industry actually hired talented people 38 years a go to perform in-flight duties. So many happy memories of flights staffed with warm, friendly and caring ladies such as she. She will be missed! I hope she is happy and life continues to be good. You will be missed!
i thought it was good..and even in Australia the loss of the airline was heard. I am so sorry for all but as that cabin door closes... another opens...
It broke my heart to see ATA go but the one thing they cant take are our memories and our friends. I was former flight attendant there. Love you New York C.Bonora.
Susan, you are the funiest Flight Attendant I fly with. I still remember the towel on your head when we were together on the trip to Frankfurt. Miss you so much, keep in touch,
