  • where do i get one please

  • This is sweet. Check out my Experimental tracks!

  • so cool

  • daha sinir bozucu bi ses bulamadınız mı

  • whats the brand where can i buy?

  • @meckatz ummm. monome.

  • Does this not remind anyone of the giant interactive piano set from "Big"?

  • Hey u can play snake on that and make music at the same time...

  • What is this model named? extremely greatfull for a reply.

  • pardon my nubbishness but this is a MIDI controller, so what software would one use? Ive got ableton suite 8, i'm assuming i could jack this into my macbook pro and go to town

  • Thanks for doing this video! I've been having a hard time figuring out what exactly goes on in the videos of people playing the monome and launchpad etc. Makes much more sense now :)

  • The first thing he plays, mlr, is so awesome. I want a Monome.

  • music is organised noise and noise is music to the mind

  • @anonymusum are you stating here that artists who make their music using a DAW can't attain the same satisfaction when they master a track and that they have to do it with a traditional instrument, otherwise their work is of less merit? Just as much work goes into building a track in a DAW as it does with any other instrument, and to say otherwise is as egotistical as it is thoughtless

  • @elysianphoenix agreed, electronic music may be "easier" to produce from a classically-trained standpoint but it requires 10x the dedication as just playing an instrument. theres hours upon hours spent training the ears, lining up tracks and days wasted staring at equalizers... neither one is more "musical" or "real", theyre both labors that demand an incredible grade of effort and deserve equal respect

  • @ElectricNoirOST Too True.......

  • @ElectricNoirOST It sounds like you are describing anybody who is seriously interested in production. I think that someone who is musically skilled and a decent producer who plays real instruments is less successful than an unskilled musician and a decent producer who plays loops. I think it just comes down to the fact that this isn't performance and people don't even want to hear a good performance anymore.

  • sorry,but i don't have fingers to control all buttons =)

  • NEW REMIX CONTEST visit my page :D

  • where can i buy this?!=)

  • I love music, that´s why I prefer to do it by myself instead of leaving it up to a computer.

  • @anonymusum Love the comment!

  • @anonymusum by that logic you only make music by singing, beatboxing, and hitting yourself. the computers a tool to make music, just like any other instrument. i cant say "i love music, thats why i prefer to do it by myself instead of leaving it up to a guitar and an amplifier"

  • @ElectricNoirOST

What you don´t understand - I could play any of these phrases on any keyboard instrument but none of these computer guys could do so. It´s about making music with your own fingers or your own voice, it´s about playing solo or together with other musicians in chamber music or in a band. It´s about the satisfaction to be able to play a difficult piece after weeks of practicing. It´s about improvisation - it´s about musicianship! Your "tools" are just an illusion of making music.

  • @anonymusum actually im both an electronic musician and classically trained, the only things that come out of my speakers when i perform are things i previously composed, performed, and recorded. do you think theres no grey area?

  • @anonymusum I understand where you're coming from. I'm not trying to change your mind, but perhaps expand your thoughts. I started off classically trained myself, and I've found in the past years what a vibrant world digital music can be. No need for me to choose what I like better, or choose to work with. My exclusivity is to not be, and follow my inspirations accordingly.

You might find something of value here:

    watch?v=qPupQir74JE

  • 1 where do i get one? 2 how much? 3 this is very cool do they come in colors leds? 4 what type of program or computer do i need for this?

  • 1 where do i get one? 2 how much? 3 this is very cool do they come in colors leds?

  • All my life I have studied the classic instruments and nearly mastered each of them... Cello, piano, violin, clarinet, flute, etc.. I loved them all, in fact, but this... OMFG I WANT ONE!!!!

  • These things are so hard to buy...

  • looks and sounds like a fisher price toy

  • @yessapmit This is used by deadmau5 (Joel Zimmerman) who is one of the most respected house and electro artist.

  • @yessapmit idiot the loops are made by u, it jst controls them, it can sound like anything u want. u have no idea obviously

  • Now can i please carry on with my you tube browsing.

  • Sorry i didn't know you guy's like wank so hard over a crappy little machine. My bad.

  • @yarsinc well monome isnt only for music

  • @yarsinc Typical yardbird ignorant comment.

  • @yarsinc thats like saying that any nerd could make music with a keyboard. Yeah, they probably could but unless they are very talented or have used it for a long time then the stuff that they make will be shit, as this probably takes more skill to use than it looks

  • @yarsinc "To be fair according to religion we are all the son of God, so why do we all crawl up Jesus's" that was gay

  • Am i on drugs?

  • I've definately listened to the part at 3:00 about twenty times in a row so far.

  • I want one.

  • @lgnzim Me too!

  • Omg its the Im so High instrument

  • Skip to 2:58 for the best part of this video

  • Pretty sure that the third one is lovers in japan...

  • 3rd one was the best.

  • is this conpatible with live

  • @ALLoFITSsesons no. no. no.

  • the last one was the coolest

  • how much do they cost ands i think number 3 was the best

  • i dont get it..

  • This technology would make an awesome installation on a larger scale in a public place. Can you imagine the back wall of a subway platform where riders waiting for a train could interact with a huge panel of moving lights and sounds working together to create music and art? Very cool.

  • @PaulFitzZaland

Mm, if only our society would be ready to have such "toys" used in public. No, I agree, the concept of such a thing is just amazing - but think of the vandals, drunkards, naughty children and all other threats.~

  • @Wert536 Have you ever been to the Calgary airport? They have interactive, large-scale public art/toys all over the place that are engaging and entertaining. As an industrial designer myself, I can think of a million ways that you could design and install this concept in a way that would be durable and vandal-resistant.

  • @PaulFitzZaland

And then some dick heads vandalize it.

  • @MadSquirtle Let's give 'people' the benefit of the doubt. Not everyone is out to destroy. In fact, I would argue that most people would rather engage with the world than damage it. Besides, we have to trust in our neighbors and let go of anxiety. Cheers!

  • @PaulFitzZaland Griefers my friend griefers...

  • @PaulFitzZaland Youtube is the perfect place to vent your brilliant idea.

  • @CenturyCharactar I don't understand...vent?

  • Comment removed

  • @PaulFitzZaland there better be a hugeeeee thing of hand sanitizer next to it

  • @koolguy874 Fear not my friend, millions of people use public transit, elevators, and other services every day without contracting the plague. A well designed piece of public art would be better than fear of ones neighbors, don't you think?

  • @PaulFitzZaland with that u know people would put a penis on it but it would be cool either way

  • @PaulFitzZaland Indeed cool but nobody would go to work because they're too busy playing with the floors ^_^

  • @PaulFitzZaland They would first try to steal it, and in failure it will be demolished

  • @theflyingdutchmanxD Maybe, but I think the tenancy in most places goes more towards embracing public art, play, and enjoying shared spaces rather than destroying them. Typical, neglected, derelict parts of a community tend to attract more of the same. However, if you provide that community with usable, friendly, public environments and shared spaces people will embrace them, use them, and ultimately value them.

  • Respond to this video... Social issues aside, I'm an industrial designer and would design and build the installation in such a way that it would be unlikely to sustain too much passive damage. Through use of appropriate materials and construction you could prevent destruction from all but the most determined vandal.

  • @PaulFitzZaland Still Society blows, I'm an architect student and designing stuff that doesn't break can be a pain

  • who wants to give me $800 to get my hands on one of these?

  • That last one made the most sense to me, but I'm not sure if that's how it worked for all the others.
