I have had the privilidge to hear him in person and get autograph copies of His DVD.. What a wonderful concert it was . He is such a pleasent person in person also.
@VD54K It is a Rodgers 1038 Custom Organ. That is the same organ that we have at my church. When the church underwent a complete restoration a couple of years ago, a new Rodgers organ was installed and Hector played the dedication concert. He said that he has the same organ that he takes with him on tours. There are speakers that the organ is played through that produces pipe like sound. Hope this helps. Rodgers website has more information.
He's great for the "LOL" moments, such as you describe, but he's totally eclipsed by Cameron Carpenter (just look at the Revolutionary Etude video)... then there's all the business of the using music, the cheesy comments, the fake orchestra sounds....
Cameron Carpenter is spectacular - and so is Hector Olivera. Twenty years ago, following the deaths of Jimmy Biggs and Virgil Fox, I would not have believed that we would once again care enough to have disagreements about the great organists. It's wonderful that we care enough to have these disagreements!!
i've been to 2 of his concerts, they were both amazing to say the least...always great dramatic endings..we like how he rolls his head and throws his hands up in the air after a big ending lol.
¡¡¡ INCREÍBLE... PERO CIERTO !!! ........
.....¡¡¡¡ A 14 PERSONAS NO LES GUSTA ESTO !!!! ?????????
PERO QUÉ MALA ES LA ENVIDIA....... JAJAJAJAJA
¡¡¡ BRAVO HECTOR, BRAVO !!!

I can just see this pipe organ wearily poking its head out at the end of Hector's concert, to ask "Who did that??"

I have been to three of his concerts. I believe him to be the greatest living organist of our time.
