@Arisen8889 I just heard this song while I was high at the night in the beach... It has become one of greatest moments of my life, just... I can't actually explain it... Just... Amazing...
@Pulsar89 Iwent to the site! Verrrry interesting stuff! I found it amazing that his black strat (still in use today) was used on DSOTM! I am from the generation that new DSOTM when it was released (and some stuff from even before that). I have been a fan of DG since before PF!
@Pulsar89 Man, I'm going to have to sub to him! Since I'm just learning, why not learn THE MASTER's sound!
Yeah, I went through most of my life NOT seeing them live (saw a BUNCH of others....even went to original Woodstock--they were not there). Then, in 1994, the opportunity came to see them in Wash DC (Div Bell promotion). Went both nights. Though I had died and gone to heaven!
And for the song's finale, the alien race who spawned David Gilmour, Brian Eno, David Bowie and others finally reveal themselves and bring forth a mystical age of Floydism.
I saw Waters do The Wall about six weeks ago. and it was a really awesome show. But while Waters is an awesome rock star, Gilmour is lord and savior of the stratocaster. Waters Comfortably Numb doesn't even compare to this.
@HugoRod13 - qual é o teu desconforto? eu disse (pode estar errado pois meu inglês não é essas coisas) que não existe outra palavra para descrever este solo que não a palavra "fantástico". Você concordar ou não, vai de cada um.
i love that crystall ball thing that opens up it gives chuck norris the chance to redeem himself and fly out it and round house kick everyone in front of the stage including the dodgy cameran who always films the bass player when dave is playin
I'm fine with him calling Mr Gilmour a guy. I'm just glad he's watching it all the way through, not many kids that would do that I think. But he said David can play guitar 'alright' which is a bit of a under statement .
Surely all the preceding speakers will agree. I will not talk a lot. The cult composition and the best solo on the guitar which any time was played by the man on Earth.
That's a valid prayer. Whether one is pro or anti religion, this music at least makes one consider the possibilities - if you are hearing it properly. The guitar solo is itself a prayer and one that expresses my thoughts and feelings betther than anything I could quickly put into words.
OK 4 the 5 is a Demi God. These Chapes conquered More Musical Territories than any other Band. They Set The Standard. This Classical Rock at The Zenith in History.
It was an extraordinary experience, I saw them live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in 1987.
My girlfriend, to become wife, surprised me with a set of tickets....it was a brilliant evening. After the concert we took off on my motorcycle for a tour of the Gatineau Hills and spent the wee hours of the night in each others arms....truly a brilliant night and one, that when remembered, sends a surge of warmth up my spine and puts a smile across my face..
Pink Floyd, collectively, is the greatest band, musical poet, soundtrack to our soul, and provocateur of our social and political conscience to ever grace the stage. These men are truly gifted artists whose love of and dedication to their craft has placed their work of art, Pink Floyd, on a shining pinnacle of success. Iconic, they have become the quintessential paradigm of the fusion of musical talent and depth of soul.
Adored, respected and revered now, when gone they will be greatly missed.
I've liked Pink Floyd from a very early age being brought up on this kind of music from my dad, i only wish i had been taken to this concert. It looks to be the single greatest Concert/light show/Experience ive ever seen a band perform
this version misses one basic element - presence of Roger Waters!!! Besides it's a bit slower in comparison to the original or Comfortably Numb version from Live 8!!
waters meant creatively...coz if u notice more dan 75% of da concert consisted of pieces written & co-composed by him...& da only hit floyd had aftr his departure, division bell, ws written by ppl outside da band 4 da firsttym....m nt sayin waters is dat gud alone bt floyd durin da 70s ws da best dey cud hv bin ...& both sides lost due 2 da fyt & u cannot compare dem individually..
Amazing performance of one of the greatest rock tunes of all time - i think this actually eclipses "Stairway to Heaven". Good thinking on the part of Scorcese to use in The Departed...
I was there in Earls Court in 1994. The whole gig was spectacular, but I can't begin to explain what it was like to hear that solo in comfortably numb live. The studio version is enough but hearing it a million times louder, three times as long, better and all around me surrounding me just blew my mind. I didnt clap, cheer or anything when the song finished, i just stared at gilmour in utter shock. It was the most amazing part of the amazing gig.
I was lucky enough to have seen the Pulse tour 3 times back in 94. I was 24 and had worshiped Gilmour since the age of 10 when I first heard the wall. I was 30 feet away from him during one of the shows, and was on the verge of tears for 3 hours. When the stage went haywire during the finale of this, I crossed a musical sensory line that I can never go back from. My whole life has bee dedicated to music, and Dave's definitely a fther figure of my inspiration. Best teacher ever.
Have been a fan since they first emerged on the scene in late 60's early 70'. Can't even remember how many times I have witnessed them live. All I can say is this group of composers, lyricists, musician and "politically in your face band" is one of a kind. Never will there be another PF band. Their concerts not only sound so wonderful..they transport you to another dimension...and I am talking when your straight. Being high at "Moon" concert sent peeps to another planet.. Thank you so much PF !
I've been a Pink Floyd fan since august of 2005, and this very video of Gilmour playing the loloon pulse is what made me a fan because I thought it was just the most amazing thing that I had ever seen.
Simply stunning live rendition of this great piece of music. Between the light show and the guitar solo it achieves a complete level of musical nirvana.
David Gilmour is a guitar god! There is no question. Seldom does a front man make a great vocalist and great guitarist simultaneously. Usually when a front man does both, they have to comprise the quality of one or the other. In David Gilmour, you have the perfect merger of a soulful voice that exudes a timeless quality, and guitar virtuosity that would put many lead guitarists - whose only job it is to play guitar - to shame.

Don't cry man....Marketing can't support this kind of music. Marketing wants year rubbish, which they generate money.
This song (and group) you can still hear it, even after 50 years from now.
