Moody doesn't suck. I, along with many other kids at Longview thought he sucked too, until he left. The directors that came after him were mediocre at best. He's a great director and doesn't deserve that.
Though it pains me to see that Pine Tree is still military, and I have wished since 1990 they would go back to corps style... at least this is still better than anything I've seen from Longview in the last decade.
I personally know one of the former directors from the early 80s when they were very salty. They were kind of a hybrid style...though it was primarily military with non-military music.
I heard about that... Ironically our band had a bus crash on the day after, but we were coming back from a contest, and our BD wasn't driving. But congrats at coming back and having a good show!
of course nothing could be as good as Mr. Kunkel's band @ Longview High School in the 70's and early 80's.

Pine Tree was once corps-style. It was sometime in the early 80's I believe. They were 5A at the time and they made it to state.

yeah we were the only band at the contest...lol no, but seeing as we are the PT Pride band, I dont think that we would record every band there...
