This video doesn't postulate a truth, it simply illustrates the level of utter refusal an atheist exhibits! If one were to call someone a nihilist, and the accused said, 'I'm not a nihilist, I just believe that there is no meaning to life', THEY'RE A NIHILIST!! Regardless of their refusal to accept the title!! Conversely, these same atheists REFUSE to let go of accusations that the Bible promotes 'evil', even when the opposite is explained to them!! They just refuse reality!
The problem is most Christens want a single objective meaning and purpose but most atheists accept that there are multiple subjective meanings and purposes and they can't seem to be able to tell the difference between subjective meaning and purpose and no meaning and purpose.
*Aside from the fact that the Christian doesnt understand the big bang theory, he is convinced that you believe his definition, and (bizarrely), uses it to justify god's exists.
So when Ken Ham and Kent Hovind say, "No I'm not a creationist, I am a scientist trying to reform the education system for the better" I can't respond with, "You are a creationist. Just admit it already."
I agree with what you say except in the instance where you can positively prove that someone believes something different from what that they say they do. And by that I mean PROVE not just sumise or guess or think. I won't bother giving examples, you can invent your own here, but you no doubt see what I mean.
(I believe), that's the only exception to the rule. If someone is lying then it adds another element to the equation (which becomes a different equation altogether, and ceases to be the same scenario).
What if some one says they are a devout christian, who refuses to give to the poor and shows no sympathy to them. You tell them "You don't believe in the teachings of jesus. You believe in following what ever is convenient to believe in." but they still insist "No, i believe in following all the teachings of christ."
They say they believe in something, but they really don't.
Well, that's different. Most likely they haven't even read the damn thing, or if they have, they've intentionally miss-read it so that Luke 14:26 doesn't "Really" say you should hate your families.
They DO believe their own interperetation of the Bible. I honestly think they really think that Jesus merely meant "A lesser form of love" when he said "Hate" in Luke 14:26 (but nowhere else for some reason.) it's more that their interperetation is wrong, and stupid.

YOU'RE A NAZI! You worship Hitler, you masturbate to pictures of Eva Brawn every single night, and you support the execution of all non-Aryans.
Do you refuse to accept this as reality?

Yep, I'm reminded of Veritas48 and a handful of other theists insisting that atheists must be nihilists. Great video.

did veritas say that?

I believe you believe what I want you to believe because I want to believe that you believe what I want you to believe.

Dechha, that's not what you really think. I know that you know that you don't believe what you just said. :)

You can be correct in the argument if they don't know theimplications of their belief. Sorry but you're wrong here.

Scenario 1:
[You are debating a Christian.
They say, you believe that in the beginning there was nothing, and nothing happened to nothing, until nothing exploded, and created everything.
No, I believe that a natural process occurred- you begin to say, but the Christian seems content on believing that you think that you are wrong.
Thats the big bang theory, and it doesnt make sense! Which means your wrong. God exists!]

Scenario 2:
[I put on a dress, and really like it.
I ask you, how do I look?
You think I look awful but reply, Oh my it looks great.
I notice you are lying. You think it looks awful!
No dont!]
In this scenario you could argue what a person thinks.
Patka02 3 years ago
You're arguing what you 'believe' they're thinking.
You don't know for certain what they're thinking but you do have a good idea.
Besides, how does one 'notice' that someone is lying?

Youre just in denial about what you think. You think one thing, but say another, just because do noy want to admit I'm right. I WIN.

Totally I hate people who try to tell me what I think evolution is. Their version of evolution is always different from mine.
