Yes, once in 1960, then in 1964 ("Walk Don't Run '64") and again in 1999 ("Walk, Dont Run 2000"). They also recorded it in 1969, 1977 and 1980 (three different versions, for example the disco version of 1977).
the ventures never heard johnnys version they heard chet atkins simplified version then simplified it some more but it still seemed to stand out from everything on am radio then.
this was just great. I have never heard this one. I grew up on this stuff, dad was a jazz pianist. The band would practice during the week right outside my bedroom door. What a lullaby! Thanks for posting this.
