  • hey its the oily judge

  • for those of you wondering, before every match, the chefs are given a list of between 5 and 10 possible secret ingredients. My source is the iron chef america battle of the masters dvd, the bonus material disc

  • the judges are a bunch of hags lmao

  • HOT HOT HOT HOT VERY HOTTT !

  • You can practically hear the crabs screaming as they boiled, deep fried, and chopped to bits.

  • marsh crabs so cute, poor little guys:(

  • @sweetchunks22 cute, yes.. but delicious as well..

  • What were those mushrooms called? I couldnt catch it.

  • does that japanese lady complain about Oily food?

  • "... familiar to anybody who has seen Alien... AAH! ... kidding..." HAHAHAHAHAHAHA roflmao

  • i want sakai sensei to come as a challenger and take on morimoto. that'd be epic.

  • they definitely plan all of this out beforehand, if only for a little bit. wish they showed some of that process as well

  • @allabouttheimpulse

they're informed of the theme ingredient an hour beforehand to givem some setup, and then after the fact they're given three hours to replicate each dish for each judge. there was a behind the scenes special on food network awhile ago.

  • I hate how they dub Morimoto! I can understand him! =[ Sub him if you're that worried =/

  • mayonnaise sushi roll mmm (?)

  • i guess the chefs are given a brief list of possible theme ingredients at the start so they can plan on their possible dishes.

  • @darkskyBAO That is actually how it works. Then they are given planning time beforehand.

  • @kiminokami that should be it because even the chefs that help them knows what to do......

  • its not kelp its seaweed seaplant

  • 3:40マークのキッチンに大辛口というたぶん日本酒が^^; カナダ人もやるね!

  • 森本さんはさすが日本人。醤油を使うとは。

  • Last time I "Untangled my Chopsticks" it was the night after that Tijuana hooker. Don't ask, but lets just say it involved a poncho, a ripcord, and an over zealous prostitute. Needless to say, she then explained that she had a lot in common with the first part of the life of a Japanese Marsh Crab, don't know what that meant.

  • lol i loved how brown said "now japanese marsh crabs, they change sex a few times in their lifetime. they get to be a boy, they get to be a girl, boy, girl, boy, and then go into a deep fryer. that is the life of a japanese marsh crab." XD

  • they get to be a boy, they get to be a girl, they they go straight into a deep fryer, that's life in the crab world lol

  • I am so glad I am not a Japanese marsh crab.

  • i had the little crabs as pets before

  • the best iron chef!i love it

  • oh god the oily girl. -_-

  • I will be going to Morimotto's restaurant in New York this summer, I hope he's there!!!!

  • How do you say, "Get the fuck out of my way, camera man. This is hot!" in japanese?

  • i would want to kick the camera men in the face so many times if i was cooking

but that would ruin the point of it being a show :p

  • duh!!!! oily girl again!

  • Never seen a white guy on Morimoto's team. Wonder if he speaks Japanese too.

  • they get to change sex, from a boy to a girl then they get thrown to a deep fryer....OUCH"!! lifes cruel..

  • savages...you cooked and chopped those lowly animals alive...that's against the animal rights...loooool

  • Holy Crap!

They finally got a panel of judges that only consist of qualified individuals!

No former football players, or tv anchors and actors this time! :D

  • 0:01

  • Gosh i would love to be a judge on this show. all those yummy preparations right in front of you.. Yummy.. =)

  • of course they plan how else do they get the ingretents ready

  • i love marimoto

  • of course they plan it, it would be impossible to do all this in an hour without knowing what the ingrediant is at least an hour before the battle

  • @stymee216 they know the secret ingredient 15 min before

  • i think they know already how they have to cook the crabs before the show is on. because i see that they prepare well. even tho they are very good chefs, everything should be plan. No Kitchen is without menu plan. it would be mess

  • they got one hour to do the thing right. If they don't plan it out, they'd be terrible.

  • @mchan2048 and that is why the one sous chef said he was behind schedule

  • @mchan2048 they have 15 mins after knowing the secret ingredient to plan their meal.

  • @mchan2048 They actually get forty-five mintues before the "Allez Cuisine" to plan their dishes.

  • @mchan2048 i think that they actually were aware of what the basic menu was...They just went to do the dishes straight even without discussion...haha.....

  • @furtzi1976 They learn what the secret ingredient is days ahead of time. They spend days practicing these dishes in their restaurants. I know for a fact that Batali used to do a 3-4 day menu run through in babbo, ten years ago.

  • @furtzi1976 THE CHEFS ARE GIVEN A LIST OF 5 DIFFERENT INGREDIENTS BEFORE THE SHOW AND THEY PREPARE 5 DIFFERENT MENUS. THE MOMENT OF TRUTH IS ONCE THEY GET TO KITCHEN STADIUM WERE THE CHAIRMAN ANOUNCES THE SECRET INGREDIENT WHICH IS CHOSEN FROM THE LIST OF 5 INGREDIENTS .

  • I |ike to think of what I'd make if I were in the cha||enge. I'd go with:

    spider ro|| w/daikon sa|ad

    ba|timore crab cake/crab c|aws w/o|d bay & beer

    cream chowder w/crab torte||ini w/gri||ed, herbed toast

    crab ceviche

    champagne/saffron crab risotto

    Man this show is inspirationa|.

    Thanks mchan. :)

  • The comment at the beginning of them leaning to their opposite (morimoto-> american, and the other guy -> japanese) is soooo true here. It really looks like they've just switched bodies o_O...

  • Morimoto is so awesome! love that dude!

  • Hell yeah, suchanjv. He's just as awesome as he was in the original, and I'm glad he made a comeback for ICA. He hasn't lost his touch!
