  • What... This is so far from the original fable... Beautiful artwork and animation though. I guess they had to change the original story so it wasn't as "scary" for little kids. :/

  • ***So lovely great! Thanks a lot for sharing!***

  • these fables are great..sadly some kids don't seem to get them =/ my little nephew got a dvd that included some of Aesop's stories, and he couldn't figure out some of their morals...example, after seeing the fable of the Sour Grapes, he wanted to know why the fox didn't just find someone with a ladder, or ask a friend to help him reach the grapes, or (my favorite) "find a smaller grape tree". how do ya explain these things to kids who are too resourceful to get the point of a fable =P

  • :3

  • LOL

  • Thankyou Aesop for these timeless stories

  • lol the only reason i looked this up is because i missed getting bedtime story......im 19.

    shadow city

  • cute ^^

  • He couldnt climb a little tree-bush, but he could climb up the bigger tree and go down the lane, to set the lion free, o well... I guess I will use my imagination=).

  • @chechetos haha i thought about that too, but i think if you hear the story, he fell into a thorn bush instead of the vines, so the mouse is the only one that can sneak into the bushes or something :P but it's still pretty art for kids

  • Awe.. I thought the lion would eat the mouse... :(

  • Very well done, but too long and sometimes confusing for children.

  • The lion lol'd :D

  • Just see Michel Ocelot's "Princes et princesses" in shadow theater, done in tne 80's with pieces of paper... !!!! Such an incredible great work !

I don't know the english title, or if there's an english version, but it's really magic to watch that !

  • Is there any way to watch this in spanish? Ill love to show this to my nephew. =) thanxs.

  • its not 3 d animation

i was done in flash animation

  • I would like to know if this was done by SmarToonz, if not, I would like to know where to find the other Aesop fables done in this style.

  • oh look at you, so demanding. Firstly, the moral of the story is still the ORIGINAL.. the story was peaceful (as you can see from the background music) and the lion wasn't a "softie" you power hungry piece of crap. He was majestic and calm. As are most people who are truly secure of their power. The animation style was beautiful and in it's own style, more natural. That's why the trap was of vines.

my god, you sound so lame screaming over nothing and being so demanding over lovely animation.

  • hushm, n do what he demands!

  • are the characters 3d models? if not how do you make them turn so smooth?

  • lol, illogical, but very cute and of course it has quite a message :D

  • Cute =)

  • Great animation - great use of shadows

  • The Lion is a tad too tame..He should have threatened to eat the mouse, and the mouse should have pleaded for his life, entreating the Lion to remember that it behooves royalty to have mercy when asked. and the lion said "Go in Peace?" shouldn't the lion say, "Depart from my presents, lest I eat thee!" and then at the end the Lion should feel ashamed he was so mean to the mouse.

  • That would have been better but they probally didn't want to scare children.

  • Well the children will have to deal with people in real life that believe they are hire than the rest of us, when in reality they are nothing, and it is he who humbles themself that shall be lifted hire.

  • Very cute. :) I love the shadow animation.

  • SO cuTE!!..i REaLLy Like IT!! =D

  • Very interesting. My daughter and I love watching it.^^

  • that's quite nice... a bit like the shadowbox animations of olde :)
