I just watched all the step by step photos you took, what a great concept. I am sure this has tested your problem solving skills. Cant wait to see the finished project.
one thing i would love to see is the spare tire compartment modified to fit a full sized matching spare wheel and tire =) details like that make the project very sexxy in my opinion.
Im a shop owner who thought of doing this to a 68 fastback someday,Thank you for showing it is possible. What problems would u have if u moved the 70 shell back 2 inches instead of cutting and moving the 4 wheel arches back 2 inches?
Uh, the answer is pretty obvious... you tell me, would it be easier moving the ENTIRE shell back 2 inches, compared to simply modifying the panels? Thats how the shell needs to fit on the car... Moving it forward or backward 2 inches would have thrown it off completely, and other things would not have ligned up properly... Wheel arches are the least of the worries...
the answer is pretty obvious?well u didnt answer it, I asked What problems would u have moving it back .If u lower the shell before welding it and move it back 2 inches where the wheel wells line up centered ,that way u dont have to trim the back 2 inches or mess with the wheel arches ,then it would be easier than cutting the wheel arches ,carfully welding them then filling the seams with bondo to make it nice and straight @6 to 8 hour job each panel. i just think the side profile will be off.
The ENTIRE shell is tack welded together and is lowered down onto the rails its location though critical is adjustable it all depends on the builder determining what would be easiest for them and would least effect the final profile of the car. Moving wheel openings may end up making this car though awesome but with more of a kit car appearance.
You guys are doing an awesome job and can't wait to see more. As for teamhavocaz there's definitely more then one way to skin a cat errr Mustang!!
Nice video project, of your 1970 Mustang Mach 1 body grafting to a 2006 Mustang GT body and it looks similar to the TV show called "West Coast Customs", where the 1969 Dodge Charger body was grafted into a new 2007 or Dodge Charger for the celebrity from "CSI" named Gary Dourdan.

why the 1969 Tail panel, the 1970 is flat.
and Im sure the shelby panel was not a 69.
very intresting build the 1970 is my favorite, Mine has been in the family since 1979.
