  • Phantom powering is a means of powering a microphone that needs electricity, e.g. a battery for a condensor mike, by sending a 48V current through the microphone cable. Thus you don't have to worry about replacing batteries or having them run out in the middle of a performance.

  • what is the difference between the AW1600 and the AW16G? Is it 'only' the 8 XLR's inputs on the AW 1600 and the 2 XLR's input and the 6 jack inputs on the AW16G and the size of the HD that differnce these two?

  • What is "Phantom powered"?

  • These are THE BEST. Great for Tracking too! Go to my youtube page and watch Aja video. Recorded on this the AW1600!

  • Will this unit work with a Yamaha Sy-77 Midi?

  • I have a few Q's. 1. could you use the MIDI IN port to trigger the samples with an external midi controller, instead of using the 4 on-board buttons? 2. Could you use the AW1600 as a Master MIDI device (does it send MIDI clock signal)? 3. Does it have a MIDI track that could record MIDI note/events from the MIDI IN port? Thanks for your help

  • i have one of these its an awesome mixer
